Conversations with Carolina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carolina.

Hi Carolina, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi, I’m Carolina Baena and this is my story…

I have always been an eternal creative — deeply connected to that inner creative fire. I studied Industrial Design, then followed the pull toward Fashion Design and Jewelry Design. And then came my first baby: Jetlagmode — a company born to support single mothers in Colombia through the creation of handmade accessories. Ethically sourced, ancestral in spirit, modern in form. Every piece was unique, exquisite, and made entirely by hand. The quality was beyond imagination.

After 15 years navigating that dream — through all its beauty and its weight — I hit a wall. A complete burnout that led to a creative block unlike anything I had ever experienced. It took me two years to find my way out.
During that darkness, I turned inward. I began studying Sacred Sexuality, and through that journey, I discovered something profound: creative energy and sexual energy are the same force. I devoted myself fully to that exploration — retreats, trainings, therapy — until I understood, with absolute clarity, that this was my purpose.

I looked deep into my childhood, my family history. I saw the patterns. The ways of moving through life that were no longer serving me.
Then came a moment I still can’t fully put into words. I simply knew it was enough. Continuing to build in the fashion industry would have cost me my health and my family. So I sat with my team and tried to explain what I was feeling — something confusing even to myself at the time.

And then something shifted in my soul.

It was time to release my fears, shed my old skin, and share my medicine with the world. WOMB was born last year.
This is my own healing in motion. Because I am not simply a woman who studied Holistic Sexuality. I am a woman who has lived it — in her own body, through her own wounds. And now I am ready to hold space for as many women as possible.
I want to be a channel for them to remember how to live a life full of pleasure, connection, and love.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been equal parts magical and hard.

I’ve received tremendous support from my family and community — and yet, even with that love surrounding me, self-confidence has been my quiet battle. I’ve always been someone who falls in love with the process more than the destination, and that has made the journey genuinely beautiful. But I’ve also come face to face with my perfectionism. From day one, I wanted WOMB to feel as polished and solid as Jetlag Mode did after 15 years. I had to remind myself — that took 15 years.

Stepping into something entirely new, outside my comfort zone, at this stage of life has taught me more than I ever expected. I’ve discovered how open I truly am to feedback. How capable I am of committing to something and making it happen even when fear is sitting right next to me. And perhaps most beautifully — how deeply I can connect with people, in ways that reach the places words rarely go.

It hasn’t been easy. But I am profoundly grateful.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Holistic Sexologist specializing in guiding women through deep, transformative processes — women who feel disconnected from their pleasure, who struggle to navigate their relationships, or who find themselves overwhelmed by their masculine energy and unable to access the softness and balance of their feminine side.

WOMB is the space I created for all of them: a place where every woman feels held, where she remembers that walking in sisterhood is not optional but essential, and where she can reconnect with her body and nourish her mind.

What sets me apart from other therapists is simply who I am — the place I connect from, the way I show up as a loving mirror rather than a grand teacher. I am a woman who walks alongside others from my own humanity, my own wounds, my own becoming. And that is something you don’t just understand — you feel it.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Pleasure needs to stop being seen as a luxury. It is not the last thing on my list of priorities — it is the engine that connects you to the joy of being alive, to the beauty of allowing yourself to feel freely, to simply be freely. We carry so many cultural impositions that slowly pull us further and further away from ourselves.

My work is an invitation to put them down — and come home.
