Conversations with Camille Wilcox

Today we’d like to introduce you to Camille Wilcox.

Camille Wilcox

Camille, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
As an educator, I’ve always volunteered to host and organize events for students and staff. I did this without compensation and out of a pure passion for the joy it brings for people to walk into a completely decorated space with all the accommodations for a successful event. Family and friends would always reach out to me to coordinate their events.

Requesting contacts for DJs, caterer, venue space, linen, lighting, etc. I would of course show up to make sure it was a success and as an added addition I would decorate a treat table. The name Sweet Success came from the combination of coordinating and providing sweet treats from local vendors.

Today, I am known as Camille the Coordinator and proud owner of Sweet Success Events.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road is not always easy there have been cancellations for various reasons from vendors before events.

It is my job to ensure an alternative plan is executed. I am proud to say that an extensive contact list has contributed to smooth and quick adjustments in which guests realized and clients were satisfied.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a former special educator, the past has led to my current position of training professionals district and state-wide.

I am most proud of the students with disabilities that my team and I have helped obtain employment all over Broward County in large corporations as well as small businesses. I am grateful when I have a chance to combine my two passions and have a student with disability assist me with the preparation of an event.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is traveling to New York City with my mother and best friend as a birthday gift.

I’m proud when we take students on trips that they will never forget since I once had that experience. In April, we were able to take a group of 21 students to New York and Boston on an unforgettable college tour.
