Conversations with Brush1 The Road Marshal

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brush1 The Road Marshal.

Hi Brush1, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Now ‘to do road’ is far better with Romario White, commonly known as “The Road Marshal” and “Brush1 Chromatic” who is a descendant of the cool parish of Portland. The Marshal attended the prestigious Titchfield High School that boasts producing excellent students for over 230 years. With a solid foundation already in place, it is no question why his dreams are big, and his passion for entertainment is bigger, having discovered it at a very young age. The Road Marshal came from humble beginnings and has never stopped being thankful to his mother, who ensured he and his siblings had the basic needs of life. Unable to afford the latest gadgets and keep up with the fashion trends, they were satisfied with what they had and were never ungrateful.

His love for entertainment developed as he interacted with some of the finest entertainers who made it possible to receive insights into the industry. The passion only grew. Entertainment was also a family affair. His stepdad had a traditional sound system, and his brother had a recording studio at home where he produced his music. Growing up, he knew that entertainment was his dream and thought of it as a lifestyle and not only performance.

Working hard and being smart are things he does inevitably. With a powerhouse family and his role models, success in the industry was something he knew he could achieve. The Marshal was motivated by various persons across the industry. However, the likes of Creep and Nicco Chromatic fueled his passion through their spectacular movements and his admiration of Damion Delingy’s powerful voice pushed him to try even harder. Ten years later, he sees himself as his motivation using every performance as a lesson to do better. It makes him push harder, returning even better.

Having Bunji Garlin’s “Truck on the Road” wasn’t enough for the Soca world. As such, someone needed to be there to marshal it. Hence, the name “TheRoadMarshal” was born after several brainstorms by his friend and himself. They knew that he would be the next big thing on the scene and the road.

Entering the entertainment industry is not easy. It requires focus and dedication. Regardless of the obstacles, giving up is never an option. As such, The Marshal’s mantra has always been, “two ears, one mouth. I must listen twice as much as I talk.” His purpose-driven attitude has allowed him to take the hits then keep swinging. Knowing what he wanted was very important and required never giving up. He would always tell people to “finish the mission even without a cheat code.”

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Developing a voice image & style were among some struggles that took a while to overcome. I was pulling inspiration from so many great people and wanted to walk in their shoes. But I had to accept that I couldn’t be them because the world already has them. I had to become something new, different, shocking & just as, or even more amazing! Anything else that was or is an obstacle isn’t worth mentioning because those are the things that come with life. Even if you decide to stand still and not chase a dream or have any goals, some things will always be a part of life.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Brush1 The Road Marshal, more popularly known as; brush1chromatic, is an entertainer extraordinaire! Radio Personality, Disk Jock, Recording Artiste, and influencer. Brush1 is one of few hybrid entertainers; he can perform for any crowd anywhere, anytime; he only needs a mic and a stage. Brush1s ability to adapt & please his audience regardless of race or ethnicity sets him apart from everyone else.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Brush1 has learned that multiple income streams are necessary for artists or creatives. The pandemic removed the option of traditional earning for many performers and showed us how important it is to diversify. Not only the importance of it but how easy it is, whatever field you want to invest in or create a business in can be accessed online. The information is there, and the setup is easy (in most cases). With those lessons, we should move to be multifaceted in our performances and earnings.
