Today we’d like to introduce you to Betiana Bradas.
Hi Betiana, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey as an artist has been a continuous process shaped by creation, education, and cultural management. I began my professional career more than twenty years ago, driven by a deep desire to explore different visual languages and to understand art as a tool for transformation and communication.
Over the years, I have developed a multidisciplinary practice that encompasses sculpture, painting, installations, and interdisciplinary projects. At the same time, I have been actively involved in cultural management, founding and directing art spaces, coordinating artist residencies, developing curatorial projects, and collaborating with cultural institutions both in Argentina and internationally.
My artistic development has been enriched through studies in art, curatorship, art direction, and the art market, as well as through an ongoing personal investigation into materials, form, and perception.
Today, I am based in Miami, a city that has become a meeting point for diverse cultures, perspectives, and contemporary expressions. This experience has broadened my vision and deeply enriched my artistic practice, allowing me to develop new projects and connect with international audiences.
My work is currently focused on creating visual experiences that invite contemplation and reflection. My artwork has been exhibited in museums, galleries, and international art fairs throughout the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East. I continue to explore new forms of dialogue between painting, sculpture, and space, developing projects that seek to connect with the sensitivity and experience of those who encounter them.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it definitely has not been an easy journey. Like many creative professions, the art world presents constant challenges. Throughout the years, I have faced uncertainty, frustration, and moments of great demand, from organizing exhibitions and participating in international art fairs to building relationships with galleries, curators, and other professionals within the art community.
It has also been a continuous learning experience to adapt to new cities, cultures, and ways of understanding art. Every place has its own dynamics, audience, and perspective, which requires remaining open, curious, and willing to grow.
At the same time, I believe that challenges are an essential part of the process. Every experience, even the most difficult ones, has contributed to my personal and professional development. When you have a clear vision and genuine passion for what you do, obstacles become opportunities to learn, evolve, and move forward.
Looking back, I can honestly say that every step has been worthwhile. For me, art continues to be a space of exploration, discovery, and transformation.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
What I am most proud of is having built a consistent and meaningful artistic career over more than two decades, while maintaining curiosity, exploration, and creative freedom as the driving forces behind my practice.
I believe what distinguishes my work is the way different disciplines interact with one another, creating pieces that are not only meant to be observed, but also experienced and felt.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is authenticity—both in my life and in my work. Creating with honesty and purpose allows me to connect with others in a meaningful way through art.
