Today we’d like to introduce you to Aidan Kramer.
Hi Aidan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve had a passion for cameras, videos, and storytelling for as long as I can remember, but my professional journey didn’t start in some perfect creative studio. It started after years of working manual labor jobs, from paper mill maintenance and landscaping to working as a ski lift mechanic in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
Living in Colorado was one of the best experiences of my life. I loved the mountains, the lifestyle, and the sense of adventure, but I also realized pretty quickly that if I wanted a life built around freedom, travel, and meaningful experiences, I couldn’t spend it working for someone else, especially not a big corporation.
At 25, I decided it was time to take that seriously. I knew I could always start a more traditional labor based business, but instead I decided to do something I am passionate about and make it into a living. So I took the risk, and after a few name changes and lots of free work, I built Double Take Films around a passion that had been with me my whole life.
Since then, the business has grown from an idea into something I’m genuinely proud of. I’ve had the opportunity to film weddings, brands, and real stories for people and businesses who trust me to capture moments in a way that feels alive and true to them.
For me, this business was never just about making videos. It was about building a life with more freedom, more purpose, and more room to create work that people can actually feel.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No it definitely hasn’t been. But it’s not supposed to be easy. good things in life have to be worked for and if you never have to overcome any obstacles then success wouldn’t be sweet. But like any business, the start up period is tough. Having no real portfolio to show, offering to film things for free, hoping people like and trust you enough to film something like a wedding when you’re just starting off. It was definitely not easy getting to where I am. But I have many good friends, family, and a lovely woman that have supported me every step of the way so even when times got toughest It was never really too bad.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a videographer/filmmaker and the creator of DoubleTake films,
In my business I do social media marketing for brands and businesses but I specialize in event & wedding videography.
I think what really sets me apart is that I truly dream about the films I can make, it really is more than a profession to me, I am truly so deeply passionate about filmmaking that now at this point, there is absolutely nothing else id want to do with my life. the People I get to meet and memories I get to keep forever along with the memories I can preserve for others through filmmaking makes this “job” very special to me. And I would say that is also what I am most proud of, is the fact I love what I do everyday.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
well both my answers are the same but different. My most favorite part of the city is the people. the people are always make a place special. Id say my least favorite part is the amount of people (haha). The whole state seems to double in population every week.
