Hi Occean, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It all started in middle school my skin started to change as puberty set in I became extremely insecure with my blemishes. By the time I made it to high school, I was wearing makeup every day, even if it was just a little foundation. I was just fascinated with makeup it was fun to do and made me feel better about myself. My passion grew from there because to me it was about doing what makes ME feel good. I created OhSo Lush so I can help others do that as well.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been smooth. I have my days where self-doubt creeps in on me and those days where I just don’t feel good enough. Also, building clientele is probably the hardest part of running my business because it’s like, “how do I get people to come to me”. But I know that doesn’t happen overnight.

I am a makeup artist specializing in natural glams. I am most known for my sharp eyebrows and skin-like finish on dark skin beauties. I am most proud of being able to work well on all shades of black women. That is also what I feel sets me apart from others. Most of the time, it’s easy for people to apply makeup on lighter skin tones but when it comes to dark complexions, it’s a different story.
