Conversations with the Inspiring Diamond

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diamond.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Diamond. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
About two years ago, I decided that I wanted to step out of my shell and show the world my confidence and try modeling. I really didn’t think I had what it took to even be in front of a camera but I told myself I’d give it a try. Not always did I believe in myself or have the confidence to even be in front of a camera but my first shoot with s_visionz changed everything. Long story short, I decided to pursue a career in modeling as well as runway. I could say my experiences made me who I am today. I feel putting myself out there gave me a chance to really become who I wanted to be, to promote self-love throughout our community.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It definitely has not been a smooth ride for me. Growing up, I really struggled with self-love and at times, I still do because I’m human. But I picked every flaw I could and it really made me so unhappy. Being around millions of beautiful models in this industry can really make you pick out your flaws. But what I realized was that we all have beauty within ourselves. No one will look like you, there is only one you. My advice for anyone struggling with self-love is to remember that beauty is defined in MANY ways. You define your beauty and spread that confidence & positivity! Life would be so much easier the world could just promote that.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
At the moment, I have given modeling a break to focus on school and my career in the beauty industry. I am currently finishing up my certification to become a full specialist which is skin and nails. I have always been more of a naturalist when it comes to skin and I never thought I could make a career out of it. Once I finish my certification, I plan on going back to college to finish up my bachelors. I would really love to work as a dermatologist or alongside one. I created another Instagram for people to follow along my journey (DimeKai.beauty).

I think I am most proud of the fact that I finally found my career field… something that I really enjoy! And it’s such a great feeling to share my knowledge with others.

We are all different, we have all been through things that set us apart from each other.

It would be great to hear about any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve used and would recommend to others.
I absolutely loveeeee Pinterest. Pinterest I think inspires everyone, lol, but I really love finding natural skin products and DIY recipes to try on myself. It also gives me ideas on nail art and products I can invest in.
