Conversations with Anne Westfield

Hi Anne, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Well, I have always been a lover of arts, dance, poetry, music, etc. My journey with Letters by Anne started in 2016 when I was pregnant with my first son. I was a first-time mom and always wanted something created or crafted by my hands that I could give to my child. I wanted letters for the dessert table at my baby shower and decided to do it, myself. For the first year or so I wasn’t charging anyone. I was crafting them for free because I enjoyed it and it kept me busy during a rough mental time in my life. In 2018, my husband gifted me the LLC for Letters by Anne and that was my “Ok, let’s do this” moment.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For the most part, it has been smooth. Many of the struggles I deal with are either within my control, like feeling tired, uninspired, time management, so I change it immediately or when I notice it; or they are out of my control for example, weather (if I have to use spray paint), kids, and shipments. But, I have developed a mindset that struggle isn’t trouble unless you ignore it.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Letters by Anne is a small business that caters to the world of personalization. I specialize in letter art dècor with a side of novelty. My wooden letters are perfect for many occasions from baby showers, weddings, kid parties, new homeowner and my favorite, just because. Letters are my canvas of choice; Then I have my novelty items, which include mugs and keychains, which are specially created and designed for my business! What sets me apart is my creativity. Every letter I design and craft are envisioned first. Unlike many of the shops I have seen, my letters are wooden, not paper machè. They are keepsakes. I am most proud of myself for not giving up… this time!

My website is coming soon, so be on the lookout. If you have children and would love letters in their room or for a birthday party? I would be more than happy to do it. Just moved into a new home or business and would love Letter dècor for the wall? I would be more than happy to do it. Looking for something to give as a gift? I will be more than happy to craft a personal letter to your loved ones liking. I also have mugs and keychains available.
