Community Highlights: Meet Wadson Simon of Sunshine protection and Haiti Entertainment

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wadson Simon.

Hi Wadson , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
“My name is Wadson Simon. I was born in Haiti and raised in Miami, Florida. I came to the United States in seventh grade, graduated from North Miami Senior High School, and earned my associate degree in Criminal Justice from Monroe College in New York City. Later, I returned home to Miami and completed my bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts, with a focus on Law and Business in Society, at Florida International University. Coming from Haiti, I never imagined the possibilities ahead of me. But in America, I found the opportunity to pursue my dream of becoming an entrepreneur and building multiple businesses. My journey is about more than education—it’s about resilience, adaptation, and living the American dream.”

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey wasn’t easy—there were many obstacles and hard times. Growing up in Miami while my mother was still in Haiti was especially difficult. I lived with my stepmother and had to push myself every day to stay out of trouble and keep focused on my goals. My dream was not only to succeed but also to one day bring my mother to the United States to live with me—and I accomplished that.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
With my background in criminal justice and law, it has always been my goal to build something meaningful that protects and serves. Founding Sunshine Protection, a security company serving clients across Florida, is a dream come true because it connects directly with my education, values, and commitment to safeguarding people while upholding the Constitution.

At the same time, I have never forgotten my roots. Through Haiti Entertainment, my vision is to give back to my homeland by uplifting Haitian culture and taking entertainment to the next level—telling the truth about our culture, celebrating it, and sharing it with the world.

Both of my ventures—Sunshine Protection and Haiti Entertainment—reflect my journey, my determination, and my belief that resilience and hard work can transform dreams into reality.”

What were you like growing up?
Growing up in Miami, I always dreamed of leaving the environment I was in—the struggles of the hood, the ghetto—and coming back as a better person. My goal was always to push myself, to stand out, to never settle for less. I’ve always been outgoing, unafraid to speak, and determined to better myself so I could create a different path and inspire others to do the same.”
