Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacy Davis.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
When I was 14, my grandmother told me you could lose weight by eating pasta. So I did exactly that—I went on a pasta and Crystal Light iced tea diet for about two years.
My mom kept encouraging me to eat fruits, vegetables, and protein, but like most teenagers… I didn’t listen. By the time I was 16, I started losing my hair. It was scary. We went from doctor to doctor trying to figure out what was going on. Some told me it was female pattern baldness and that I’d just have to accept it.
Eventually, we saw an alternative medicine doctor who asked a simple question no one else had asked: What do you eat?
The answer explained everything—I was malnourished. My body wasn’t getting what it needed, and it was showing.
That moment changed everything for me. I realized how powerful food really is—how it can impact how you feel, how you look, and how your body functions.
That experience led me to become a registered dietitian. And because I’ve always loved food, I went back to school for culinary training too.
Today, I believe in balance. I follow the 80/20 approach—80% of the time focusing on nourishing foods, and 20% leaving room to truly enjoy what you love.
I’m passionate about helping people see that healthy eating doesn’t have to be boring. It’s not just baked chicken and steamed broccoli. Food can be flavorful, fun, and something you actually look forward to.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been an easy path. Life is never smooth—there are always bumps along the way.
Early on, I had to rebuild my own relationship with food. After being so restrictive and experiencing the physical effects of malnutrition, I had to learn what balance actually looked like—not extremes, not fear, but nourishment.
Professionally, one of the biggest challenges has been helping people unlearn all the misinformation out there. I work a lot with people touched by cancer, and many come to me overwhelmed, confused, and scared about what they should or shouldn’t eat. There’s so much noise, and I’ve made it a priority to provide clear, evidence-based information they can actually trust and use in real life.
Another challenge has been finding my voice. Whether it’s speaking, creating content, or building my business, there’s always that pressure to be perfect—but I’ve learned that being real and relatable is what truly connects with people.
And like many working moms, balancing career, family, and personal time is an ongoing challenge.
But every challenge has shaped how I practice today. It’s made me more compassionate, more practical, and more focused on meeting people where they are—because I’ve been there too.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Flavorful Nutrition is a private practice where we support clients both one-on-one and in group settings. We also host cooking demos and educational events in the community, making nutrition feel more real, doable, and even fun.
I specialize in working with individuals touched by cancer—helping them manage side effects, feel more confident with food choices, and actually enjoy eating again. My approach blends clinical nutrition with a culinary background, so it’s not just about what to eat, but how to make it taste good and fit into real life.
What really sets my practice apart is that I focus on practical, flavorful solutions. I’m not about rigid rules or fear-based messaging. I believe in balance, flexibility, and meeting people where they are—especially during such a challenging time in their lives.
I’m also known for sharing trusted products and brands I genuinely love, both on social media and directly with my clients. I’m very intentional about what I recommend, making sure it aligns with my values and truly supports the people I work with.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of creating a space that feels approachable, supportive, and realistic. My goal is for people to feel less overwhelmed and more empowered—knowing that nourishing their body doesn’t have to be boring, restrictive, or complicated.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is spending my summers at Shea Stadium. I was actually only 6 months old when I “won” Banner Day and got a record player.
Even though Shea Stadium isn’t around anymore, it still feels close to my heart. I even have seats from the stadium in my backyard now, which makes me smile every time I see them. It brings back all those memories and that special time with my family.
