Hi Silvia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Thank you so much for allowing me to share my story! My name is Silvia, and I am a Miami native, wife, proud mom of two, educator, and the founder of Little Big Learners.
While I wear many hats, the most important role God has blessed me with is being a mother. My two incredible children inspire me daily and have shaped who I am both personally and professionally. I have always known that I wanted to be both a mother and a teacher.
Becoming a mother deepened my love for early childhood education and allowed me to witness firsthand how important those early years are for a child’s development, confidence, and love for learning. I truly believe this passion was placed in my heart for a reason.
Before marriage and motherhood, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and later my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, which provided me with both the academic foundation and leadership perspective to support students and families. As a classroom teacher, I gained invaluable experience and saw how every child learns in their own unique way. Working closely with my students allowed me to understand the importance of personalized instruction and creating a nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to grow. These experiences, along with my role as a mother, inspired me to create something more.
That vision became Little Big Learners — a space created to help children not only catch up, but also get ahead, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love for learning. Little Big Learners provides a small group, personalized environment where each child receives the support and attention they need to grow and thrive. We offer tutoring, after school enrichment classes, morning learning pods for homeschool students, and educational learning boxes designed to reinforce learning at home.
Little Big Learners continues to grow, and my hope is to support more learners and families each day. Everything I have built is rooted in my faith, my love for my family and children, my passion for education, and my desire to make a meaningful impact. Little Big Learners is more than a business — it’s a reflection of my heart, my purpose, and my commitment to helping children thrive.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting my own education business has been a dream of mine for over ten years, but I truly believe that timing is everything. The journey required patience, faith, and trust in the process. There were seasons when I knew in my heart this was what I was meant to do, but it wasn’t yet the right time. I was focused on growing as an educator, gaining experience in the classroom, continuing my education, and most importantly, raising my children.
Balancing motherhood, a full-time teaching career, and building a business from the ground up was not always easy. There were moments of uncertainty, long days, and sacrifices behind the scenes. However, each step helped shape my vision and prepared me for this journey. I learned the importance of perseverance, trusting God’s timing, and staying committed to my purpose even when progress felt slow.
Looking back, I now understand that every challenge and every season of waiting served a purpose. It gave me the experience, clarity, and confidence to build Little Big Learners into what it is today. That patience allowed me to create something meaningful, intentional, and rooted in both passion and purpose. Every step of the journey has strengthened my belief that when you trust the process and remain faithful, the right doors will open at the right time .

Little Big Learners is an educational learning center dedicated to helping children build strong academic foundations, confidence, and a lifelong love for learning. What I am most proud of is the impact Little Big Learners has had on students and families. As Little Big Learners continues to grow, our mission remains the same: to support, inspire, and help as many young learners as possible reach their fullest potential.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I believe one of the most important qualities that has contributed to my success is my loving nature and genuine connection with children. I have always had a natural ability to understand them, support them, and help them feel safe and confident. Children can sense when someone truly cares, and I believe that connection allows them to open up, trust the process, and reach their full potential.
My passion for helping children grow, both academically and emotionally, has been the foundation of everything I have built. Combined with patience, faith, and perseverance, it has guided me through every step of this journey. I am deeply committed to creating an environment where children feel encouraged, valued, and inspired to thrive.
