Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Alman DMD.
Hi Ryan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Dentistry has been a lifelong calling for me. I started my educational journey at the University of Florida, where he completed his undergraduate degree. The heritage of dentistry runs deep in his family as I am a 3rd generation dentist.
I knew I wanted to be a dentist at a young age and it was solidified after participating in dental mission trips to Ecuador with the University of Florida College of Dentistry.
I received my DMD from University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Where I had training and hands-on experience from the world’s best educators.
After completing dental school, I returned to Florida and joined the family’s dental practice. Since then, I has taken on the responsibility of running the practice, upholding the tradition and values that have been passed down through generations. We also had to relocate our office, which allowed me to update the office to become a state of the art, modern practice with the newest technology available.
My approach to dentistry is not just about fixing individual dental issues; it’s about seeing the bigger picture. I believe in comprehensive dentistry that considers the entire oral health of the patient. I have a deep appreciation for the artistry within dentistry and a particular love for aesthetics. The ability to create beautiful smiles is both a science and an art that I am passionate about.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
After taking over the practice in 2021 there were some struggles along the way. Needing a long term lease for my loan to buy the practice, I found out in the new lease contract, our landlord put a
“re-capture clause”, which could have us need to relocate with a certain amount of time to do so. I opted to move the practice at that point to make sure I had more control of what the future held. This started the search for a new location and during that time there were only so many spaces available that were medically zoned for us to move.
I found a location that was more centrally located in Boca Raton and began designing our new office. Our office was also an older practice that was still on paper charts. I digitized everything at the same time as the buildout of the new office .
Otherwise, when it came to our patients and the practice as a whole, things were smooth and we continued to have growth in the office.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Alman and Katz Dentistry?

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was outgoing and wanted to be involved with everything. I was on a sports team every season during the school year and was involved with many organizations/clubs in high school.
I was a big sports person, so that consumed a lot of my time while growing up.
