Community Highlights: Meet Ricardo Codd & Marcos Codd of Dogo Creativo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ricardo Codd & Marcos Codd.

Hi Ricardo Codd & Marcos Codd, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Our story began with a shared curiosity for creativity, technology, and communication, and with the belief that good ideas could create real opportunities.

We are Ricardo and Marcos Codd, and Dogo Creativo started as a small creative project that gradually became much more than we originally imagined. From the beginning, we were interested in the intersection between design, digital experiences, technology, and storytelling. We never wanted to limit ourselves to one discipline, so as the industry evolved, we evolved with it.

Dogo Creativo was founded in 2007, at a time when the digital world was changing quickly and brands were beginning to understand that their presence online had to be as intentional as everything they did offline. We started by helping businesses with design and digital projects, and over the years our work expanded into branding, websites and applications, social media, audiovisual production, campaigns, digital strategy, and, more recently, artificial intelligence and automation.

Growth came gradually. Every project introduced us to a new challenge, a new industry, or a new way of thinking. What started with smaller projects eventually gave us the opportunity to collaborate on work connected to major international companies, entertainment brands, media organizations, artists, and global events. Those experiences allowed us to work across different markets and cultures while continuing to develop our own way of approaching creative problems.

One of the most important parts of our journey has been learning not to become attached to a specific tool or trend. The creative industry changes constantly. Technologies disappear, platforms evolve, and the way people communicate changes. What has remained consistent for us is the importance of understanding the problem first and then finding the right creative and technological solution.

Today, Dogo Creativo is an international creative and digital agency working across branding, design, development, content, audiovisual production, strategy, and AI. We have had the opportunity to work with teams and clients in different parts of the world, but we still approach the company with much of the same mentality we had at the beginning: stay curious, keep learning, and treat every project as an opportunity to build something meaningful.

Almost two decades later, we see Dogo Creativo less as something we simply built and more as something that has continuously evolved alongside us. The company has changed many times because we have changed too, and we believe that ability to adapt has been one of the most important reasons we are still doing what we love today.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Building a creative company over almost two decades has meant learning how to navigate economic crises, major technological shifts, changes in the way people work, and the challenges that come with growth.

One of our first major tests came very early. Dogo Creativo was founded in 2007, and only a year later the 2008 global financial crisis began. We were still a young company, so facing that level of economic uncertainty so early forced us to become disciplined, flexible, and very conscious about how we grew. It taught us that building a company is not only about having good ideas; it is also about being able to adapt when the environment around you changes unexpectedly.

The creative and digital industries have also transformed constantly since we started. We have seen platforms appear and disappear, social media redefine communication, mobile become central to almost every experience, and now artificial intelligence reshape the way creative and technological work is approached. Each of those changes required us to keep learning, rethink our processes, and sometimes move away from methods that had previously worked very well.

Then came COVID-19, which was a difficult period globally and created enormous uncertainty for businesses everywhere. In our case, however, having spent years working in the digital space gave us an important advantage. Remote collaboration was not new to us. We were already accustomed to working with clients and teams in different locations, using video conferencing, cloud-based tools, and digital workflows long before they became standard practice for many companies.

That experience allowed us to transition through that period without having to completely reinvent the way we operated. At the same time, many companies suddenly needed to strengthen their digital presence, communicate remotely, sell or provide services online, and find new ways to connect with their audiences. Our existing experience in those areas allowed us to help clients navigate that transition while continuing to evolve ourselves.

Growth has brought another set of challenges. As projects became larger and more complex, we had to learn how to scale without losing the attention to detail and personal involvement that defined our work from the beginning. Working across different countries, cultures, industries, and time zones requires strong communication, organization, and flexibility.

We have also had projects that did not go as expected, opportunities that did not materialize, and moments when we had to make difficult decisions about where to focus our time and resources. Those experiences have been an important part of our development.

If there is one thing these different periods have taught us, it is that there is no permanent formula for success. The ability to adapt, keep learning, and recognize change early has probably been one of the most important factors in Dogo Creativo’s longevity.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Dogo Creativo is an independent creative and digital agency founded in 2007. We work at the intersection of creativity, technology, strategy, and communication, helping brands turn ideas into experiences that are useful, relevant, and memorable.

Over the years, our work has expanded across branding and visual identity, web and app development, UX/UI, social media, digital campaigns, audiovisual production, content, strategy, and, more recently, artificial intelligence, automation, and AI-powered experiences. One of the things that defines us is that we have never seen these areas as completely separate disciplines. A brand today may need a new identity, a digital platform, content, video, technology, and a strategy for how all of those elements work together. We like being able to understand the full picture rather than approaching only one piece of it.

We have had the opportunity to work on projects connected to global companies, entertainment brands, media organizations, artists, and major international events, including names such as Microsoft, Bank of America, Sony, Volkswagen, Universal, Billboard, and others. Those experiences have exposed us to very different industries, audiences, cultures, and levels of complexity, and each one has contributed to the way we think about our work today.

What probably sets Dogo Creativo apart is our ability to combine creative thinking with a strong understanding of technology. We are designers and storytellers, but we are also very interested in how things work. We do not want to create something that simply looks good; we want to understand the business objective, the audience, the platform, and the technology behind it. That allows us to move comfortably between a branding conversation, a digital product, an audiovisual production, or an AI project without losing sight of the larger strategy.

Another important part of our identity is adaptability. We started before social media became what it is today, before smartphones transformed digital behavior, and long before artificial intelligence became part of everyday creative workflows. Instead of defining ourselves around a particular platform or technology, we have always tried to remain curious and evolve with the industry. Today, AI is an important part of that evolution. We are exploring how it can improve creative processes, automate repetitive work, create new customer experiences, and help companies operate more efficiently, while still keeping human judgment and creativity at the center of the process.

We are also proud that Dogo Creativo has grown internationally while maintaining the spirit of an independent agency. With a presence in Miami and an international client base, we have built Dogo Creativo to operate across markets while maintaining the flexibility and direct collaboration of an independent agency. Working with people in different countries and time zones has become a natural part of how we operate, but we still value direct communication, close collaboration, and being personally involved in the work.

Brand-wise, what we are most proud of is probably the longevity and evolution of Dogo itself. Nearly two decades in a creative and technology-driven industry represents many different versions of the company. The services have evolved, the tools have changed, and the scale of the projects has grown, but the underlying idea has remained consistent: understand the problem, stay curious, and use creativity and technology to build the best possible solution.

We want people to know that Dogo Creativo is not defined by one service. We see ourselves as a creative partner for organizations that need to communicate, evolve, launch something new, solve a digital problem, or explore what new technologies can make possible. Sometimes that begins with a brand. Sometimes it begins with a website, a campaign, a video, or an AI idea. For us, the interesting part is figuring out how all of those elements can come together to move a business or an idea forward.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are several ways people can work with us. At Dogo Creativo, we collaborate with companies, brands, organizations, entrepreneurs, artists, and other creative teams that are looking to build something new, improve an existing experience, or solve a communication or technology challenge.

Some clients come to us with a very specific need, such as a new brand identity, website, application, campaign, audiovisual project, or AI solution. Others come with an idea or a business challenge that still needs to be defined. In those cases, we often become involved early in the process, helping determine the strategy and identifying what combination of creativity, technology, and communication makes the most sense.

We are also open to collaborations with agencies, production companies, developers, designers, creators, and specialists in other disciplines. Some of the most interesting projects happen when different areas of expertise come together, so we value partnerships where each team can contribute something distinctive.

Because we work internationally and have been collaborating remotely for many years, geography is rarely a limitation. We are comfortable working with teams in different cities, countries, and time zones, whether the relationship is for a single project or an ongoing partnership.

The best way to support or collaborate with Dogo Creativo is simply to connect with us. We are always interested in meeting people with interesting ideas, ambitious projects, or new perspectives. Even when a conversation does not immediately become a project, those relationships can lead to opportunities and collaborations later.

Ultimately, we look for projects where there is a real problem to solve and an opportunity to create something meaningful. If there is a good fit between the idea, the people involved, and what we can contribute, we are always open to the conversation.
