Community Highlights: Meet Rebecca Frey of Rngade Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Frey.

Hi Rebecca, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I got into fitness through my own personal transformation, and what surprised me most wasn’t just the physical change, it was how much it improved my confidence, mindset, discipline, and the way I approached everyday life. That experience made me want to help other people create those same kinds of changes for themselves, and in 2018 I became a personal trainer.

Over the years, I’ve worked with a wide range of clients here in South Florida complete beginners, people recovering from injuries, people balancing demanding schedules, and individuals who simply want to feel stronger, healthier, and more capable in their daily lives. What I found across all of them is that lasting fitness results usually require more than just workouts. Most people are trying to change their lifestyle, improve their habits, and create a better standard for themselves long term.

That mindset became the foundation of Rngade Fitness. My philosophy is that fitness should be integrated into your life in a realistic and sustainable way, not treated like some all-or-nothing challenge you have to “survive.” A lot of people overcomplicate health and fitness when, in reality, long-term progress usually comes from building better systems, making better choices consistently, and learning how to adapt over time.

Everything I build from in-person coaching to app-based programs, is designed around structure, sustainability, education, and real-life application. I want people to leave not just looking better, but understanding how to maintain their results and continue improving for life.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Honestly, no, and I think anyone who tells you their road was smooth is leaving something out.
Early on, one of the biggest lessons I had to learn was that being skilled at training alone isn’t enough. You also have to learn communication, business, marketing, leadership, and how to work with people from completely different backgrounds, goals, and personalities. The fitness industry is extremely saturated, and standing out takes more than knowledge alone, people need to trust you, connect with you, and believe that you can actually help guide them toward real results.

On a personal level, I also went through a period that forced me to take a hard look at myself and become much more intentional about the choices I was making physically, mentally, and professionally. Going through that experience strengthened my perspective on discipline, accountability, and personal responsibility. It reinforced the idea that real change usually doesn’t come from waiting until you “feel ready” it comes from making consistent decisions, adjusting when necessary, and continuing to move forward even when things are difficult.

That perspective has shaped the way I coach. Every client comes in with different goals, limitations, lifestyles, and experiences, and part of my job is helping them create systems that realistically fit their life while still pushing them to grow. Good coaching isn’t about making excuses for people, but it’s also not about throwing them into an unrealistic approach they can’t sustain long term.

Building Rngade has also meant learning to wear a lot of hats at once; coaching, program design, content creation, client communication, and continuing education, all while staying true to what I actually want the brand to stand for. It’s been challenging, but seeing people become stronger, healthier, more confident, and more capable over time makes it worth it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
What sets Rngade Fitness apart is that I don’t believe fitness should feel like punishment or an all-consuming lifestyle. A lot of people struggle because they’re constantly bouncing between extremes, either doing nothing or trying to change everything overnight. My approach focuses on building realistic habits, structured training, and systems people can actually maintain.

I specialize in strength training, physique development, corrective exercise, and helping people build consistency through education and structure. Whether someone is brand new to fitness, recovering from an injury, trying to get stronger, or simply wanting to feel healthier and more capable in everyday life, the goal is always the same: create a plan that fits the individual instead of forcing them into a one-size-fits-all approach.

One thing I’m especially proud of brand-wise is building coaching systems that make fitness feel more clear and approachable. Through my app-based coaching and programs, clients have access to structured training, exercise guidance, progress tracking, accountability, and clear progression so they always understand what they’re doing and why they’re doing it.

I’ve also worked hard to create an environment that balances professionalism, education, accountability, and approachability. My goal is to challenge people while giving them the structure, guidance, and clarity to progress with purpose.

At the core of Rngade Fitness is the idea of being “Fit for Life.” Not just physically fit, but building habits, discipline, routines, and skills that improve your overall quality of life. I want people to leave with more than temporary results. I want them to leave with the knowledge and tools to keep progressing for years to come.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
The most important thing I’d tell anyone whether they’re starting a fitness journey or building a business is that meaningful progress almost always happens slower than you expect, but faster than you realize when you stay consistent. Most people quit right before things start to compound.
Stop waiting for motivation to show up. Motivation is unreliable. What actually creates long-term results is structure, building systems and habits that still work on the days you don’t feel like it. That’s true for training, business, and life in general.

I’d also say to be careful about who you compare yourself to. Social media makes it look like everyone else has everything figured out, but most of the time you’re comparing your beginning to someone else’s middle. Stay focused on your own progress and your own standards.

And don’t underestimate your environment. The people around you; coaches, friends, and training partners can completely change your trajectory. I know for a fact I wouldn’t be where I am today without the people who pushed me, challenged me, and supported me throughout different stages of my life and career. Find people who genuinely make you better.
At the end of the day, the people who succeed long term usually aren’t the most motivated they’re the ones who built systems they could actually sustain.
