Community Highlights: Meet Rebeca Miraba of Golden Hour Aesthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebeca Miraba.

Hi Rebeca, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I moved to Florida 12 years ago, and at the beginning, I didn’t know what career path I was going to take, in Ecuador, I was going to college for a hospitably and tourist degree, and I knew that I wanted to serve others, but I wasn’t sure how. Since I was a teenager my mom always taught me how to take care of my skin and I loved it.

In 2012, I started working at a local boutique, and the owner, who was an esthetician, saw my skills and potential to be a skin care specialist, without knowing what’s the beauty industry about, decided to take the leap and went to esthetics school, and since then I fall in love with skincare and everything in between.

During the early times of my career, I didn’t know what I really wanted to do, however, I was always seeking more knowledge and trends in the beauty industry. Every year, I used to go to trade shows and assist with different skincare line workshops. I had the opportunity to work for a local hair and spa salon in west palm beach, offering facials, waxing, and makeup services, which most estheticians do at the beginning of their careers.

In 2014, I started working at an MD spa in palm beach gardens which gave the experience in more medical treatments such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and micro-needling. I fall in love with results-driven treatments and medical modalities, however, I always wanted to have a deeper connection with my clients.

After a couple of years of trying different things and growing my family, I decided to finally register my business’ “SkinCare by Rebeca pre covid, Feb. 2020, and I didn’t know what was about to happen, but having the support of my family, friends, and colleges help me maintain my vision and keep growing.

Social platforms such as Instagram and FB helped me find other professionals who I felt very inspired and I understand that in order to grow I need to invest in myself and my mindset, to work from my highest potential, and until this day I invest in different business programs and workshops to keep evolving.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Being a business owner is challenging, not only in the business aspect but also in bringing out all your fears, and limited beliefs. For me, the biggest struggles have been with myself, accepting the perfect timing, and being patient with my growth. Believing in myself and that I’m capable of doing everything that I desire.

Founding my business has been one of the struggles along the way because I didn’t have big capital to invest in my business and I had to re-invest as it goes. Raising my prices was a bit tricky and I had to do personal work in order to charge a premium price for my services. But nothing could be accomplished if I wouldn’t invest in coaching sessions and business programs that changed my mindset.

We’ve been impressed with Golden Hour Aesthetics, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Golden Hour Aesthetics offers a variety of skin care services where medical and holistic approach meets. We have a curated signature facial, which has been developed through years of experience and getting to find what our specialty is.

We believe that true beauty is inside every woman and man, and we just need to let it glow from within. Our best seller treatment is “The Golden Hour Facial”. This treatment was created by Rebeca when she realized that in order to have great results a combination of modalities, products, and massage techniques is very important.

Golden Hour facial is a unique treatment and customizable for every client, from dermaplaning and hydra facials to lymphatic drainage and sculpting massage this treatment can have it all, our clients called it “the 90 min of bliss.”

Our goal is to get more people to try our unique approach to skincare and build a long time relationships with all of them.

Any big plans?
Our goal is to reach more people and get to serve them with the best quality skin care services.

That being said, we are looking to expand to a bigger location, this will be happening during the fall and we can’t be more excited. We’ll be able to have new offerings (massage, lashes, micro-blading, etc) and a new retail area filled with our favorite skincare lines.
