Hi Randy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m originally from the US Virgin Islands, but I made the move to Miami back in 2015. I began working in construction the following year and quickly climbed the ranks to become part of construction management. As a child, I always had an entrepreneurial spirit and was skilled with my hands. I started doing handyman work for friends and family for free until my cousin suggested I turn it into a side hustle. Since officially starting my business in 2021, I’ve been able to generate a substantial income – much more than I expected. I believe many people underestimate the potential earnings of a handyman. At my core, I’m a builder and I’ve been able to turn my passion into a thriving business. Plus, I’ve had the opportunity to meet incredible people who’ve become like family.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Building a business isn’t easy, especially without a strong support system. There were times I felt discouraged, but a few genuine people believed in me, and that made all the difference. Dealing with clients who undervalue your work can also be tough.
