Today we’d like to introduce you to Pedro Cabrera.
Hi Pedro, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story is, in essence, a journey of resilience and adaptability. One of the most significant turning points in my life was my arrival in the United States, a time of great change and challenge, where I had to adapt to a new culture, a new language, and a new professional environment.
It was a period where failure wasn’t just a possibility but a reality on the path. However, instead of seeing it as an end, I embraced it as an opportunity to learn. I discovered that the real key isn’t to avoid obstacles, but to develop a mindset that allows you to overcome them. Every challenge became a lesson, and every setback, an impulse to get back up stronger.
This journey led me to understand that the entrepreneurial mindset isn’t limited to business; it’s a lifestyle. It’s about being proactive, creative, and, above all, resilient. This mindset has brought me to where I am today: sharing my story and my learnings to inspire others to see challenges not as barriers, but as the catalysts for success. My work is the culmination of that journey, a guide for others to cultivate that same mindset and discover that success, ultimately, is in the trying.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A smooth road would be a boring story, and the truth is that my career has been full of obstacles, which are precisely what give meaning to my message. It has not been an easy path, but every struggle has been a gift.
One of the greatest challenges I have faced is the constant need to adapt. Plans change, markets evolve, and what worked yesterday may not work today. I have had to learn to let go of what I thought I knew and to embrace the unknown. There have been moments of uncertainty and difficult decisions, where the risk was real and the fear, palpable.
However, in each of those situations, I discovered that resilience is not something you are born with, but something you cultivate. It is a conscious choice. I chose to see every failure not as a defeat, but as a valuable lesson that prepared me for the next step. The struggles taught me to be more creative, to find solutions where no one else saw them, and to trust in my ability to overcome any adversity. Those struggles were not a detour, but the very path to the entrepreneurial mindset that defines me today.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My business, EmprenderUS, is a comprehensive digital platform dedicated to empowering Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs globally. Our mission is to propel their success by providing access to quality education, fostering strategic connections, and offering valuable free resources. What truly sets us apart, especially in our first year, is our holistic approach to supporting the entrepreneurial journey: we centralize crucial, verified information, cutting through online fragmentation. We’re excited about our upcoming E-US Small Business Academy and building a vibrant community through diverse networking events.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
If I had to give one piece of advice to someone just starting out, it would be this: Embrace the process of trying, and don’t be afraid to fail. That sounds cliché, but it’s the absolute truth. Many people get so caught up in the idea of a perfect plan or a guaranteed outcome that they never take the first step. The real learning and growth happen in the act of doing, in the stumbles and the course corrections along the way.
What I wish I had known earlier is that resilience is a muscle that you build, not a trait you are born with. For a long time, I thought being strong meant not feeling the fear or the doubt. But I’ve learned that true strength is feeling those things and pushing forward anyway. The struggles are not a sign of weakness; they are the exercises that make you stronger. So, instead of trying to avoid failure, learn to fail smart, learn from it quickly, and use that knowledge to fuel your next attempt. The journey is not about reaching a destination without a scratch, but about becoming a more capable person through every challenge you face.
