Today we’d like to introduce you to Parker Lake.
Hi Parker, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My origin story is fairly international. I was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in LA, then spent a good 20 years abroad (in Asia and Europe) before coming to Miami. I worked in sales across various industries during all of those years and always had an interest in IT, IT systems and cybersecurity.
When the opportunity to join Ten4 Technology came up at the end of last year, I took it because it seemed like the perfect melding of my sales background and my interest in computer technology.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. Some aspects of the road have been a little bumpy. Along the way, I co-founded a startup software development firm that lasted two years before it went belly up. That was a few years after I had first come to Miami, in the pre-pandemic days.
That episode was rough, but it taught me some valuable lessons about what I’m good at and what I needed to work on getting better at (or outsourcing)!
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Ten4 Technology Group?
I am the Client Development Executive the chief business developer at the Ten4 Technology Group.
What’s known today as the Ten4 Technology Group has been around since 2001. Then it was called Sabio IT which merged with Netcom Solutions in 2019 to form Ten4.
Ten4 Technology Group specializes in providing IT management for professional services firms, medical clinics, or any company with employees who do their primary work on a computer.
We handle cybersecurity, email, Internet access, communications systems, IT vendor management, and everything else that an full-service IT department would handle in a larger company. We offer a Fractional CIO service to all of our clients to help them become aware of the strategic IT options available to them based on their budget and goals. In doing so, we give smaller companies (those with between 10 and 200 employees) the ability to operate with the technical effectiveness of a larger corporation.
Many of our 60-some clients are law firms, making us particularly suited to the unique IT needs of the legal industry.
Given the value we add, many are surprised to learn that the Ten4 Technology Group charges a predictable fixed fee per month for our whole array of services.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
It’s surprising to many that I am a professional paddle board and kayak guide on the weekends and evenings.
