Community Highlights: Meet Orestes Romero of Build Pro Construction Consultants

Today we’d like to introduce you to Orestes Romero.

Hi Orestes, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I came to the United States in 2017 after spending three years in Spain, where I earned my master’s in Sales and Marketing, and started a new career as a fitness coach. When I got here, I continued working as a coach, but my background in business and my curiosity kept pulling me toward something bigger. The American system felt like a code I wanted to figure out.

I started learning about real estate and got into managing rental properties, flipping homes, and helping investors from Latin America buy income-producing properties in the U.S. I didn’t stop there. I wanted to keep building systems and connecting everything I was learning. Along the way, I met great people, learned a lot, and removed the ones who weren’t aligned with my goals.

In 2022, I met my current partners at Build Pro Construction. Together, we started developing projects with investors through joint ventures—building, flipping, and selling properties. That collaboration grew fast and soon turned into something bigger. By early 2024, I became a partner at Build Pro Construction. Since then, we’ve focused on scaling the company from a family-run operation into a structured corporation built on solid systems, financial transparency, and continuous improvement in every part of our business.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road at all. Change management is a big undertaking, especially for a company that, for many years, operated without clear systems or a long-term vision. The real challenge was getting everyone on the same page and creating structure in a way that felt natural, not forced. It took patience, communication, and teamwork to introduce new processes and clarify responsibilities while keeping the company moving forward.

As we started organizing and decluttering our operations, things became clearer. Our team began to find the roles where they could contribute most, and the business started to run more efficiently. There have been setbacks and tough moments (and sometimes there still are), but they have helped us build stronger trust and unity across our team. The whole experience showed how much strategy and organization can free up time, reduce stress, and open the door for real growth.

We’ve been impressed with Build Pro Construction Consultants, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Build Pro Construction is a licensed and insured general contracting company, but we see ourselves as much more than that. We’ve built a structure that serves clients at every stage, from homeowners and investors to other construction and home service companies as consultants to help them with operational organization. Through our parent company, ROC Development Group, we manage several business units that allow us to handle everything from construction and property development to consulting and investment partnerships.

What makes our team unique is how balanced we are. Each partner and team member brings a different background and set of strengths, which helps us approach challenges from multiple angles and find creative, practical solutions for our clients. Whether it’s a complex development deal, a renovation, or helping another company improve their systems, our goal is always the same: to deliver quality work and a great experience.

We’re proud that most of our new projects come from past client referrals. It tells us that people trust us and that the care we put into every job leaves a lasting impression. For anyone reading this, we’d want them to know that Build Pro is not just a general contractor; we’re a partner that can help with construction, investments, and strategic planning across the board.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I personally define success as being able to achieve financial freedom while doing something aligned with your purpose. In my case, that purpose is empowering people to achieve growth and well-being.
