Community Highlights: Meet Nicole White of Sunny Side Up Market

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole White.

Hi nicole, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Sunny Side Up Market started in 2019 with a simple idea — to create a space where local vendors, creatives, and small businesses could come together and feel supported, seen, and celebrated.

Before starting Sunny Side Up Market, I was a kindergarten teacher for 10 years. That experience shaped so much of how I approach what I do today — creating environments that feel welcoming, organized, and community driven, while also making things fun, engaging, and meaningful for people of all ages.

What began as a small community market quickly grew into something much bigger. I saw firsthand how much people were craving connection — not just a place to shop, but a place to gather, meet their neighbors, bring their kids and dogs, and feel part of something.

Over the years, Sunny Side Up Market has evolved into a series of curated pop up experiences across South Florida, from farmers markets to themed events, wellness mornings, and night markets. Each one is intentionally designed to bring together a mix of artisans, food vendors, and experiences that make the day feel special.

Now, as a mom of two under two, I’m navigating a whole new season of life while continuing to grow this business. That perspective has deepened my vision even more — I care about creating spaces that feel easy, supportive, and genuinely enjoyable for families, vendors, and the community as a whole.

Today, Sunny Side Up Market is more than just a market — it’s a growing community. One that supports local, celebrates creativity, and brings people together in a way that feels real, warm, and a little bit magical.

And we’re just getting started ☀️✨

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road and I don’t think building something meaningful ever is.

In the beginning, one of the biggest challenges was simply getting people to believe in the vision. Convincing vendors to take a chance on a new market, building trust, and creating something consistent from the ground up took time and a lot of persistence.

As the market grew, the challenges shifted. Managing logistics, weather issues, permits, last minute changes, and the reality of running events outdoors in South Florida has taught me to be extremely adaptable. There are so many moving parts behind the scenes that people don’t always see.

Another challenge has been balancing everything personally. I went from being a full time teacher to running a growing business, and now I’m also a mom of two under two. Navigating motherhood while continuing to build and show up for my business has been one of the most rewarding but also most challenging parts of this journey.

There have been moments of stress, burnout, and uncertainty, especially when things don’t go as planned or when I’ve had to make hard decisions. But every challenge has helped me grow, refine the vision, and build something stronger.

At the end of the day, those obstacles are what shaped Sunny Side Up Market into what it is today; resilient, community driven, and always evolving.

As you know, we’re big fans of Sunny Side Up Market. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Sunny Side Up Market is a community driven farmers and artisan market based in South Florida. We specialize in curated pop up experiences that bring together local vendors, small businesses, and the community in a meaningful way.

We host a variety of markets each week, including daytime farmers markets, night markets, vintage markets, and wellness focused events. Each event is thoughtfully designed to feel like an experience, not just a place to shop. From live music and yoga to kids activities and interactive moments, everything is created to make people want to come back again and again.

What sets Sunny Side Up Market apart is the intention behind every detail. We are very selective with our vendor mix to ensure quality, variety, and a cohesive feel at each event. We prioritize vendors who are passionate about what they do and who want to be part of a community, not just show up and sell.

We are also known for creating spaces that feel welcoming to everyone. Families, dogs, locals, and visitors all feel at home while still experiencing something that feels elevated and visually beautiful. The layout, the energy, and the overall vibe are all carefully considered.

One of the things I am most proud of is the community that has been built through Sunny Side Up Market. Vendors support each other, customers become regulars, and each event feels like a true gathering.

We also focus heavily on giving our vendors real exposure. Through social media, email marketing, and partnerships, we help small businesses grow and reach new audiences.

At its core, Sunny Side Up Market is about connection. Supporting local businesses, creating memorable experiences, and bringing people together in a way that feels genuine, fun, and lasting.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I have learned is that community is everything.

In the beginning, I thought success would come from having the perfect setup, the perfect vendors, or everything running exactly as planned. But over time, I realized that what truly makes Sunny Side Up Market special is the people. The relationships with vendors, the regulars who show up week after week, and the connections built at each event.

I have also learned the importance of adaptability. Things do not always go as planned, especially when you are running outdoor events. Weather changes, logistics shift, and unexpected challenges happen all the time. Learning to stay calm, adjust quickly, and keep moving forward has been essential.

On a personal level, becoming a mom while growing this business has taught me to let go of perfection. I have learned to give myself grace, to trust my instincts, and to focus on what truly matters.

At the end of the day, it is not about everything being perfect. It is about showing up, staying consistent, and building something that people feel connected to.
