Today we’d like to introduce you to Natacha Metayer.
Hi Natacha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I established my brand in the summer of 2019 to fill the void in the minority bridal category, and to educate my community on diamonds, colored gemstones, and precious metals. I distribute my jewelry online and from my downtown Miami showroom.
My aim is to bring transparency and education to the diamond industry to all of my clients! My clients are like family to me and I treat them as such.
I established JNCY Jewelers in June of 2019 while working my corporate job. Since that time I have become a full-time private jeweler and am currently pursuing my Gemological Institue of America (GIA) degree. I am currently a Certified Jewelry Professional and am actively pursuing my degree to be a Graduate Gemologist.
I am extremely hands-on with regard to my business; I answer all my direct messages on social media, emails, and selects each and every stone option for my clients.
Since beginning my career in 2019, I have been featured on British Luxury magazine Tatler and Miami New Times.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Whenever you start a new venture there will be ups and downs. Some days are exciting, scary, happy, or overwhelming, and sometimes all at once. I entered the jewelry industry without experience and did everything with excitement but was truly scared.
When I began my business, I had so many ideas and so little time. While working my corporate job, time was truly limited so there were many sleepless nights. From designing rings and studying the 4Cs of diamonds, I was truly in over my head. However, I do not know the words quit or stop so I just walked around sleepy and tired.
So I started JNCY Jewelers in the summer of 2019 and little did I know a pandemic was brewing on the horizon. Fast forward six months, the entire world came to a halt and so did my business temporarily. Initially, I did not know what to do because I just started a business and was just getting my foot through the door. I took that time to educate myself on diamonds. I attended the Gemological Institue of America virtually and obtain my Applied Jewelry Professional degree. I received an overall perspective of diamonds, colored gemstones, and precious metals. I then use that information to educate my audience via my social media platforms. By educating my audience, I gain several out-of-state clients and create some amazing custom engagement rings for them.
In spite of all the struggles, I have learned critical lessons that a business owner should know and will apply these lessons throughout my life.

I love Miami. I was born and raised in the county of Dade. If you do not understand that line then you are too young. Lol
Miami is such a beautiful and diverse city. It has all the cultures of America and the added flair of the Caribbean, Latin America, and South America. We have the best food, beaches, and people.
