Community Highlights: Meet Nat Lopez of The Business Theory

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nat Lopez.

Nat Lopez

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
So here’s the deal: Way back in 2009, I was working at a diagnostic center and thought, “Hey, why not give this place an online makeover?” That was my first taste of web design and man, I was hooked.

Fast forward to 2016, some folks were trying to pull a fast one on my dad’s business, offering him a super expensive, not-so-great website. And I thought, “No way, not on my watch!” I took matters into my own hands and built him a kickass website. Guess what? His business boomed by 15% in the first year alone.

Seeing that success, I thought, “Why stop here?” So, I decided to go all in and offer my web design services to everyone who needed it. And just like that, ‘The Business Theory’ was born. Now, we’re a big name in the industry, and we’re all about delivering top-notch work and making our clients super happy.

It’s been a wild ride, but man, it’s been worth it.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Yeah, those initial years were a challenge. When COVID-19 hit, it was like a double whammy. Businesses were closing left and right, and those that remained open were hesitant to invest in anything beyond the absolute essentials, let alone web design services.

I had to quickly pivot my approach and find ways to demonstrate the real value of having a well-designed website in such times. It was about showing them that an online presence wasn’t just a luxury but a necessity, especially during a pandemic where most people were locked inside their homes, relying on the internet for pretty much everything.

It was a lot of hard work, and there were times when things seemed bleak. But I stuck to my guns and believed in the value of the service I was providing, and slowly but surely, things started to change. As businesses began to realize the importance of having a strong online presence, they started coming to me.

So no, it hasn’t been a smooth road, but every bump along the way has taught me something valuable. And I believe it’s these experiences that have shaped “The Business Theory” into what it is today – a trusted name in the industry known for delivering quality work.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Absolutely! I mean, South Florida is pretty much paradise on earth. There’s so much to love about our city. The vibrant culture, the diverse food scene, the laid-back vibe – it’s all just so uniquely South Florida.

But if I had to pick one thing, I’d say it’s being so close to the beach. There’s nothing like finishing a hard day’s work and being able to hit the beach in minutes. It’s like having a mini-vacation every day.

As for what I like least, you hit the nail on the head. The weather can be a bit too hot sometimes, especially lately. But hey, that’s a small price to pay for living in such an amazing place, right? Plus, it’s just another excuse to hit the beach!
