Today, we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Oravitz.

Michelle Oravitz

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story began when I was much younger and realized, after a few years of having my period, that my cycle wasn’t normal. I would get my period very irregularly (2-3 months between menstruation), and looking back, I also had circadian rhythm irregularities, as well as periodic depression, PMS, and mood swings.

At the age of 17, my mom took me to a gynecologist, hoping for a solution, but I left with a prescription for birth control pills, which the doctor said would regulate my cycle as long as I kept taking them. Despite not knowing much about my body or medicine then, that answer felt very disappointing, and I left feeling defeated.

Years later, while studying and practicing architecture, my irregular periods persisted into my mid-twenties. After going on and off the birth control pill for years, I expressed to my mom that I felt the need to address this differently. Then, she heard about an acupuncturist named Dr. Li, who specialized in gynecology. Dr. Li catalyzed my healing, regulating my period, moods, and overall health. My experience with him eventually led me to change my career from architecture to natural medicine.

I began by enrolling in school to study Ayurvedic medicine and then pursued a master’s in Oriental Medicine. I was always intrigued by women’s health and fertility and eventually became certified with ABORM, a board certification organization for acupuncturists specializing in reproductive health. I now work with couples in person through acupuncture and provide online fertility coaching, helping countless couples optimize their reproductive health.

Recently, I published my new book, “The Way of Fertility,” which shares teachings of ancient wisdom from ancient medicine, such as TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), aimed at helping couples connect with their innate reproductive potential. I firmly believe in the resilience of the human body, and I have witnessed this in my practice. This fuels my passion for spreading the message that humans are powerful and the body is primed to self-heal.

Let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
I don’t think it’s ever a smooth road. It took a while for me to get started in the work I do today. The important thing was that my passion was stronger than any fear and challenge that came my way. I feel a call to help couples conceive, and this is my “why.”

I remember starting my business treating some fertility cases but mostly “general.” My father got sick shortly after I committed to renting a space. I had to put my business on the back burner – so much so that I remember the summer after literally going down to zero patients.

I could have seen this as a horrible thing, but I had faith that the universe was letting me know it was time to pause and grieve after losing my father. I then got to rebuild my business and eventually committed to treating mostly fertility and women’s health-related conditions – a path that I was meant to take.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us a bit more about your business.
I am an acupuncturist who specializes in fertility wellness. I work both in person (providing acupuncture services) and online (offering fertility coaching and programs) to help couples conceive. I host a top-rated fertility podcast, which I launched in 2018.

I recently wrote a book, “The Way of Fertility,” which shares information, stories, and exercises intended to awaken fertile potential in the reader. I have an intention of awakening hope as well as showing my audience that they are way more powerful than they may realize.

I love backing this up with modern research, proving much of what Chinese medicine has been teaching for centuries!

How do you define success?
I define success as full and complete alignment with your soul’s true expression.

When people find their deepest calling, which aligns with their passion, they will naturally draw so much of life’s abundance because they use their highest expression to help others through their innate gifts.

That, to me, defines success.
