Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Lorraine Hopkins.
Hi Madison, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I moved to Miami almost 3 years ago to pursue my career in fashion. I started my fashion career almost 10 years ago! I started in retail for several years, while accomplishing my Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Marketing and Management.
Beginning my career at a young age, I wasn’t sure where I would land in the industry. I started to pursue marketing and events, eventually transitioning into personal styling. Styling myself and others has always been a passion of mine, and I’m grateful to have the opportunity to make it my career.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a new business owner, there have been many struggles along the way. From searching for new clients, business management, and learning how to manage workload on my own; owning a business sometimes requires sacrifice and many learning lessons.
Challenges are expected and sometimes never-ending, but with a dedicated mindset and action, you can achieve success during challenging times. You can only learn by doing, and nothing great ever comes easy!
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Madison Lorraine?
Madison Lorraine offers personal styling services for events, resorts, and capsule wardrobe refreshes. I specialize in inspiring clients to feel confident and look their best, and advise them to create their style. I would describe my brand as chic and classic, with an elevated and trendy flare.
I am proud of the personal experience I offer for each client and accommodate each individual’s styling and wardrobe needs. I ask my clients: “If no one was looking, what would you wear to feel your best?” Fashion is much more than designer logos and status, it’s a form of self-expression and individuality. With a keen eye for fashion and styling and specialized skills such as trend forecasting and brand/product knowledge, I dedicate a lot of my time to bringing these skills and tips to my clients.
In addition to personal styling, I offer photoshoot styling services, and partner with local, freelance photographers. I put together the visuals at each shoot in unique and creative ways. This is another part of my business I am proud of, as I love being able to gain experience in another part of the styling industry.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Starting a business is a risk, not everyone is willing to take when calculating risks. I would say my strengths include dedication and going after what I believe in, so I would call myself a risk-taker.
You never know what successes and experiences can come out of taking a risk, so it’s important to go out of your comfort zone to receive the reward of growth and opportunity.
