Community Highlights: Meet Kahley Jaeke of BFB Kennels & Kahleys K-9 Training

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kahley Jaeke.

Hi Kahley, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Ever since I was little, I’ve always loved animals. Growing up we fostered, adopted, and cared for many dogs. Taking care of these dogs changed my life; they taught me responsibility, boundaries, and most importantly love. Two years ago, I decided to adopt my own French bulldog, and that’s where everything started! As the time went, I learned more about dogs than I ever knew possible. We started with simple tricks and training, and I thought to myself, “there is so much more this dog could do.” Lily and I started working on specific task training to help with anxiety, depression and alerting. From there I decided I wanted to become a dog trainer and breed more dogs like Lily to help others, just like she helped me. I got my Master’s in dog training from Catch Academy and started my own business “Kahley’s K-9 Dog Training” at just 21 years old.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Juggling college, a family, 4 dogs, and a business has been a hard road, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
While I own two different businesses, they often coincide with each other! I use my dog training knowledge to better my breeding business and my breeding knowledge to better my training business. As for my training, I like to specialize in general obedience, service, dog training, and gluten-allergy dog training. As for BFB, my breeding business, we are known for well-rounded family dogs that have top pedigree, structure, and health. A few things that set us apart from other businesses are all of our puppies and dogs are family raised and professionally trained before they go to their new homes. This helps with the bonding process with the new families. Since they do not have to worry about potty training or crate training them, they can spend more time on other activities! We are proud to be a small business that prides themselves on treating their dogs like family and providing other families with amazing lifelong companions.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Within the next 5 years, we hope we can move to a farm and expand our business. We want to continue expanding our dog training business and dog breeding business while also keeping those same family-oriented values. We strive for honesty, quality, and most importantly, a happy client!
