Community Highlights: Meet Juan David Sánchez of Vicus Water

Today we’d like to introduce you to Juan David Sánchez

Hi Juan David, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, and grew up as the older of 3 siblings. In my childhood and adolescence I developed a strong interest for creativity. Everything from art, design and photography caught my attention, greatly influenced also by traveling around the world with my family on vacation.

After high school I decided to pursue my bachelor’s degree in Design at University of the Andes, where I got introduced to design thinking methodologies and to innovation as a process that can be planned and iterated. During my degree I lived did an exchange program in Oslo, which contributed to opening my mind to a global perspective.

During my last semester of university, I started a company with my father and my best friend. My father had recently sold his company and my best friend was working in finance, and everything came together holistically. That’s how Lomarosa was born. Each of us imprinted our knowledge and personality to this company, which took the shape of an agriculture and food company, with a value proposition that aims to regenerate the land we work on, while establishing an added value business in the industry.

After devoting 5 years to Lomarosa, I decided to move to the US to explore my full potential and be with my wife. It was then when I connected with Dr. Richard Nahas, founder of Vicus Water, and joined the team. I am now focused in this project and it has become my latest obsession.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Overall I am thankful it has been a smooth road. Life and work always have challenges but I try to stay focused and positive.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Vicus Water?
Vicus Water is the first brand of spring restructured water. As water research on advances, we now know that there’s so much more to water than just pH and electrolytes, which is why we created this product. Restructured water promoted the flow of Qi in the body and it’s amazing to see how it’s changing the way people think and feel about their hydration.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I think consumers are gaining knowledge of what they buy and drink at an unprecedented speed, so I see the industry diversifying and becoming more and more specialized and product with health and consciousness attributes. New generations drink less alcohol and soda, and care about their health more than ever, so we will see that guiding trends and products.

Pricing:

  • Vicus water currently sells for $9.60 and can be boguht in cases of 6, pallets, and everything in between.
  • We are soon launching a smaller presentation.
