Community Highlights: Meet Greidys Rodríguez of Aris Custom Apparel & Printing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Greidys Rodríguez.

Hi Greidys, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Our story began with the dream of building something of our own as a family. We are Carlos and Greidys, a Cuban entrepreneurial couple who came to the United States with the desire to grow, create opportunities, and make a positive impact in our community.

Before starting our business, we worked in different fields while learning how the market operates and discovering the type of company we wanted to build. We have always been drawn to creativity and the opportunity to offer unique products, which led us to discover our passion for custom apparel and textile personalization.

What started as an idea and a strong willingness to learn eventually became a business dedicated to creating customized apparel and products for businesses, events, organizations, and families. We enjoy helping our clients bring their ideas to life and express their identity through products that truly represent who they are and what they stand for.

As immigrants, entrepreneurship has been a journey filled with challenges, learning experiences, and perseverance. However, every satisfied customer and every completed project has motivated us to keep growing. Today, we are proud to have built a brand that combines creativity, quality, and personalized service.

Our goal is to continue expanding our services, supporting fellow entrepreneurs, and proving that with dedication, hard work, and passion, dreams can become reality.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been an easy journey. Like many entrepreneurs, we started with limited resources and had to learn many aspects of running a business along the way.

One of our biggest challenges has been building a brand from the ground up while balancing family responsibilities, daily work, and the investment required to continue growing. As immigrants, we have also had to adapt to a different market, understand our customers’ needs, and earn their trust.

Another important challenge has been learning the technical side of the industry, from operating equipment and production processes to pricing and marketing strategies. We have made mistakes and faced moments of uncertainty, but every experience has helped us improve.

Looking back, we realize that those challenges have been an essential part of our growth. They have taught us to be persistent, adapt to change, and value every customer and every opportunity. Those lessons continue to guide us as we keep developing our business.

As you know, we’re big fans of Aris Custom Apparel & Printing. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Our business is a creative customization and textile printing brand built around bringing ideas to life through clothing and event experiences. We specialize in custom apparel—like t-shirts, baby clothing, uniforms, and accessories—using techniques such as DTF printing and vinyl work. But what really makes us different is that we don’t just “print products,” we create experiences around them.

One of the things we’re most known for is our live customization service, where we bring a “Patch Bar” style setup to events. That means guests can personalize their items on the spot and walk away with something unique made just for them. It turns a simple product into a memorable moment, especially for baby showers, birthdays, business events, and community gatherings.

What sets us apart is the personal touch behind everything we do. This is a family-run business, built by my husband and me, and every order is handled with care, attention to detail, and a real connection to the client’s vision. We don’t treat customers like just another order—we treat each design like it has a story.

Brand-wise, what we’re most proud of is how far we’ve come starting from scratch and turning creativity into something real and impactful. We’ve built a brand that supports other entrepreneurs, small businesses, and families who want something custom, meaningful, and high quality without losing that human touch.

At the end of the day, our goal is simple: to help people express who they are through personalized design, and to make every piece feel special, not mass-produced.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I grew up as a very curious and creative person. I enjoyed observing people and understanding how things worked around me, especially anything related to human behavior and emotions.

Personality-wise, I was responsible from a young age, but also very expressive. I had a strong imagination and liked turning everyday situations into stories or creative ideas. I was also very family-oriented, so being close to home and helping others was always important to me.

In terms of interests, I was always drawn to art and culture. I actually studied Art History and worked in museums in Cuba, which strongly shaped the way I see creativity and detail. I’ve always been interested in visual expression—design, aesthetics, and storytelling.

I also met my husband Carlos in that same environment. He worked as a Conservator and Restorer at the museum where I worked. He has always had a deep passion for art and detailed work, something that still defines him today. His way of seeing art, so careful and precise, complements my more creative side very well, and in a way, that balance is also reflected in our business, where we combine creativity with attention to detail.

Overall, I would say I’ve always been a mix of creativity, observation, and empathy, and those same qualities are still very present in the way I run our business today.
