Today we’d like to introduce you to Fellipe Cardoso.
Hi Fellipe, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After a week of opening my first barbershop in nyc, the pandemic’s shutdown happened. A year later I decided to move to Florida. I ended up in Fort Lauderdale but now having to restart my career. During that time I built a clientele, saved up enough money and met my current business partner. We decided to a new shop and chose Miami. That meant restart once again from zero. No clients, no network, nothing.
Since we’ve opened business almost a year ago, we’ve grown Braze Barber Lounge to be the go to shop In little river and on our way to become one of Miami’s most notable barbershops.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Building the shop was relatively smooth with some small hiccups during the build out.
Our biggest challenge was starting from zero without any prior clients. A financial problem but also a mental problem. We had to stay positive and focused on what we know how to do.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Braze Barber Lounge?
Our barbershop is one of a kind, from the interior design, the energy of the space and the quality of the service we provide.
We’re a precision cut type of barbershop. We focus on modern classic men’s scissor haircuts, fades and shaves.
What were you like growing up?
Im originally from Brazil, born raised until the age of 11 then I Moved to nyc. I was an active kid, always playing sports. As a teenager I began to bro an interest in business so I started looking for ways to make money – shoveling snow, passing out flyers for businesses, helping my mom with her cleanings.
I was a playful kid, always cracking jokes but always had a chip on my shoulder with something to prove.
