Today we’d like to introduce you to Evelyn Diaz.
Evelyn, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I made 10 years in this business this past August — and honestly, it kind of happened by accident, like it was meant to be. I was recruited by someone from an agency called HealthMarkets, and at the time, I wasn’t even licensed. I was just at a point in my life where I was ready for something new. I decided to attend an orientation, and that’s where I met Wayne, the sales leader at the time, whose passion and leadership inspired me to take the leap.
Within a month, I was licensed and started my career as a broker with HealthMarkets. After five amazing years of learning and growth, I decided to branch off and build something of my own. That decision has brought challenges, lessons, and tremendous growth — and today, I’m proud to say I lead a team of 40 agents.
My latest chapter is co-founding Purple Solutions Insurance Agency — a woman-owned agency built not just to serve our clients, but also to empower other agents to grow and build their own book of business.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Growth is never easy. Over the years, there have been major changes in regulations and government policies that have shaken up this industry more than once. But no matter what’s thrown my way, I’ve learned to roll with the punches, adapt, and find solutions even in the middle of chaos.
We’ve been impressed with Purple Solutions Insurance Agency, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a women-owned insurance agency specializing in Medicare, health, and life insurance. Together, the three of us bring over 30 years of combined experience to the table. We started this agency with a clear purpose: to empower other agents to build and grow their own book of business.
From launching a business to finding leads, providing exceptional client care, and building retention strategies — we guide agents every step of the way.
At the heart of what we do is our role as brokers. We take our fiduciary responsibility to our clients seriously, always putting their best interests first. Because we work with most of the major insurance carriers in Florida, we have the flexibility to recommend the plans that truly fit their needs — not the ones that simply benefit us.
Our focus is on building meaningful, long-term relationships. In fact, many of our clients have been with us since the very beginning of our careers — a true testament to the trust and care we bring to every interaction.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love the diversity of Fort Lauderdale. I do not like the summers, it’s way too hot – I don’t know one Floridian who does.
