Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Anahitta Jafari.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I come from a long line of healers & Traditional Persian Medicine Physicians. Born into a family of traditional Persian physicians, herbalists, and alchemists, I was immersed from childhood in the world of Traditional Persian Medicine (TPM). My grandmother, great-grandmother, and mother were my earliest teachers. I followed them everywhere, absorbing their wisdom about food as medicine, the power of herbs, and the spiritual elements of healing. By the age of eight, I was already reading texts on Persian herbology and practicing what I had observed, guided by my family who often referred to me as the “chosen one” because of my passion and determination.
This early foundation shaped me into who I am today, a sixth-generation Traditional Persian Herbalist, educator, and author of “The Persian Kitchen Physician”: The Art of Plant-Powered Persian Cuisine for Total Body Seasonal Wellness, Via each Individuals unique constitution and temperaments. My work is deeply inspired by the teachings of “Avicenna” as he is referred to as the ” Prince of Physician” by the Encyclopedia Britannica and the father of modern medicine. One of history’s most influential physicians, who believed that health depends on balance between the body, the seasons, emotions, and environment. His philosophy is at the heart of everything I do: helping people align their lifestyles with the natural rhythms of the universe.
Over the years, I’ve also had the privilege of producing and hosting my own live daily television shows, bringing the principles of natural healing, Persian medicine, and healthy living into people’s homes on a regular basis. This platform allowed me to educate and empower a wide Farsi(Persian) speaking audience globally, making these ancient teachings accessible and practical for modern life.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to success is rarely smooth. It’s filled with detours, lessons, and challenges designed by the universe to shape us into who we are meant to become. I’ve learned to embrace every twist and turn along the way. The bumpy roads, the setbacks, and even the storms because each one has strengthened me and deepened my purpose.
From a young age, I battled with illness and persistent digestive issues. Those early struggles awakened in me a curiosity and a calling to understand the body, to heal through food and herbs, and to help others restore balance in their own lives. But my path wasn’t without pain. I lost everything I owned not once, but twice. Those were years that could have broken me, yet instead they became the foundation of my resilience.
Through faith, prayer, meditation, and the sacred teachings of my ancestors, I found my strength again. I worked tirelessly, holding multiple jobs, slowly rebuilding my life piece by piece until I was able to open my own company. I carried with me the wisdom of my grandmothers, who taught me that when you believe from the bottom of your heart, God always hears you.
Today, I am living my purpose. Doing what I love and helping humanity reach not only their health goals, but also their spiritual awakening. Every challenge I faced became part of my evolution, and every lesson was a reminder that the universe never works against us, it refines us.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Parsi Herbs, Inc and The Persian Kitchen Physician ?
My work stands out because it is both ancient and innovative. Through The Persian Kitchen Physician, I introduce a global audience to the wisdom of “Avicenna” and Traditional Persian Medicine, while translating it into plant-powered recipes and practices that fit modern lifestyles. The book offers more than 150 recipes that are both food and medicine, carefully designed to support the body through each season.
Importantly, the first 100 pages of the book are dedicated to teaching readers how to understand food as a healing tool according to their individual constitution. This section clarifies why not all foods are good for everyone, and how tailoring nutrition to one’s unique temperament and body type is the key to true wellness. Dishes like “Grandma’s Healing Summer Digestive Tonic” come directly from my family’s heritage, while creations like the “Popeye Burger” represent my way of blending tradition with modern nutritional science.
Beyond my book, I founded Parsi Herbs, Inc., a women-owned and family-run company producing Persian herbal formulations. I also created the Kitchen Physician School of Natural Healing Arts and Science to teach others how to apply these principles in their own lives. My work has been recognized internationally. I have received awards from the Cancer Society of Grand Bahama Island, been honored by cultural herbal associations, and featured on NBC Channel 6 for my contributions to holistic healing and ethnobotany.
What sets me apart from other healers is not only my lineage, but the way I bring these teachings to life. I combine centuries old Persian wisdom, Avicenna’s philosophy of balance, and modern scientific insight to create highly customized healing approaches. My techniques address the root cause of imbalance, not just the symptoms, helping people restore harmony in body, mind, and spirit.
How do you think about luck?
I don’t attribute my success to luck. What some call luck, I see as divine alignment. When you think positively, act positively, and believe in yourself wholeheartedly, the universe and God create opportunities that align with your purpose.
For me, success has been a product of faith, determination, and consistency. Of course, I’ve been blessed with moments of recognition and platforms like producing my own daily television shows and being featured on NBC Channel 6 that allowed me to share my work more widely. But those moments weren’t random; they were the result of years of dedication, prayer, and resilience.
In my view, “luck” is simply what happens when preparation meets divine timing. If you stay true to your calling, align your life with positivity, and honor the wisdom passed down to you, what others call luck will naturally flow into your path.
