Today we’d like to introduce you to Doug DeLucca.
Hi Doug, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a Florida native, born in Miami and residing in Boca Raton since 1983.
I have been a part-time mechanic since 1996. I pursued a career in IT upon graduation from Florida Atlantic University in 2005. Over the years, I have progressed my auto repair and diagnostic skills, including obtaining Master ASE certification. In 2021, I left a 22-year corporate America career to begin Boca Auto Fix.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Leaving corporate America with all the benefits including working from home was a big challenge. I have never been a small business owner, so that made this venture that much more challenging. You don’t know what you don’t know… and the unknown can be stressful.
Being very analytical, I expect to weigh decisions precisely in order to make the most informed recommendations. When jumping into a new small business you don’t have the time to have lengthy decisions making processes. Going “with your gut” is a must and took some time for me to learn.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a small general auto repair facility specializing in Asian and Domestic vehicles. We are known for our transparent inspection, estimate, and sales processes.
Our digital vehicle inspections (DVIs) provide complete transparency and are what set us apart from the rest. All vehicles that come through our doors receive a complimentary DVI where our ASE Certified Master technicians will address any customer concerns and thoroughly evaluate the vehicle. Color-coded recommendations with pictures are clearly and concisely shared with our client’s via text and email with safety first as our main priority.
Our mission is to ensure vehicle safety for our community by consistently providing honest and reliable automotive repair services. We are committed to keeping our customer’s vehicles safe and reliable, working together to determine the best approach for repairs. Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Up until 2021, I lived a very risk averse life.
I have been gainfully employed since since the age of 14 and have always done my best to follow a structured path and minimize risk. Once I left corporate America and started my own business, the risk swung from one side of the pendulum to the other. This huge shift was difficult, but I have tremendous support from my family and we are excited to share our passion and expertise with the Boca Raton community.
