Hi Daniel and Jason, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Daniel’s story: Born and raised in Westchester, New York. I currently reside in Miami, Florida post graduating from the University of Miami Business School.
Before starting JL Klein, I worked at another executive search firm for three years as an executive recruiter specializing in legal and compliance in the asset management space. In the legal space, I work with anywhere in between paralegals up to general counsels. In the compliance space, I work on roles anywhere and in from compliance analysts to chief compliance officers. I have been successful in placing top legal and compliance candidates at large hedge funds, private equity, and venture capital firms all across the United States.
Jason’s story: Born and raised in Roslyn, New York, I currently reside in Miami, Florida. I am a graduate of Indiana University. Similar to Daniel, I spent approximately 2.5 years at an executive recruiting firm, specializing in legal and compliance placements for top-tier asset management firms. I honed my skills in identifying top-notch talent and understood the intricate dynamics of the asset management industry.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Leaving a secure job with good pay, benefits, and a supportive community is a significant decision, particularly when it’s about starting a new venture such as executive recruiting. However, with risks come rewards.
If the business succeeds, there’s the potential for financial rewards, the satisfaction of creating something from scratch, the freedom and flexibility that come with being your boss, and the possibility to shape the culture and direction of your company.
The key is to recognize these risks, plan for them, mitigate them where possible, and be prepared both mentally and strategically for the journey ahead.
