Community Highlights: Meet Catherina De Nicolo of Denfit Design

Today we’d like to introduce you to Catherina De Nicolo.

Catherina, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Denfit Design was born in the heart of a young girl who wanted to design houses and transform spaces. Since I was a little girl, I was always drawing and painting the walls in my house. While I was growing, I was getting more involved in the arts world. I started taking interior design courses since I was 13 years old. After completing my midschool homeworks, I’d run to my after-class courses near my parents’ office to start developing my design skills because since I was a little girl, I knew perfectly what I wanted to do in the future. So, I started to work for it at my young age. When finished my Architecture degree at college at the age of 22, I started working with very great architects and contractors, but my dream of my own company was always there, beating in my heart and running in my mind.

The first years after finishing college where an important key to my career. I got so much knowledge and experience from my supervisors at that time. But the new time just arrived, the moment where I founded Denfit Design. It all started with very very tiny projects, including my family and friends’ houses, bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, all of them were very low-cost budget. But they were so special to me because all of those projects they built the professional I am today.

Every great company or every great professional start from the very beginning, and that process it’s a necessary step to learn how to be consistent in life and business. Every project started being bigger than the previous one and that growing has taken me where I am today. Even if I have an entire house to design or if it is only a small space within a house, I enjoyed so much. I do my best always, trying to accomplish each client’s expectations so they can see their investment was really worth it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course, it has not. Any successful road is smooth, it is not an easy path to go through. It’s a road full of challenges, ups and downs, and obstacles to overcome.

The struggles along the way will always be there. They do not appear in your life only when starting a business or a project, they are like a permanent company in your life. Even when they bother us so much, they are constantly reminding us we are more capable than we thought we were. They are always bringing out the best of us.

In this industry, for me one of the struggles was to find clients who trusted me to develop their dream project. In order to find that, I had to trusted myself first. There were moments where my mind was playing against me, telling me I will not make it. But my faith reminded me that my efforts were worth it, and I was more than enough to be successful and get the clients I needed.

After starting trusting myself, everything started to change. Since that moment, I have not been able do double doubt my capacity to develop great projects. With that on my mind, it has been amazing how confident I am to show my best to every client.

Struggles will always be your best impulse to jump into a new step. Take advantage of them; use them for your growing and not for your defeat. They could be any kind of struggle, but whatever it is, bring out the best because the best is always yet to come.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
