Today we’d like to introduce you to Cali Bam.
Hi Cali , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey started with a passion for music, entrepreneurship, and creating opportunities where I saw there were none. Growing up, I watched talented artists struggle because they lacked the right guidance, business knowledge, and resources—not talent. That inspired me to build something that could change that reality.
In 2023, I founded More Money Than Yesterday (MMTY) with the vision of creating more than just another entertainment company. I wanted to build an ecosystem where artists, creators, and entrepreneurs could develop sustainable careers through music, content, branding, live experiences, partnerships, and education. Our mission has always been simple: help people create more opportunities and become more successful than they were yesterday.
Since then, MMTY has expanded into a growing entertainment company working with artists, creators, and brands while developing partnerships that open real doors for independent talent. We’ve helped launch campaigns, organize events, build strategic collaborations, and create business opportunities that extend far beyond music alone.
Today, my focus is on long-term impact. Whether it’s helping relaunch an established artist like Kent Jones through innovative digital strategies, building new platforms for emerging talent, or expanding MMTY nationally and internationally, everything we do is centered around empowering creators to own their careers and build lasting businesses. For me, success isn’t just measured by streams or followers—it’s measured by the opportunities we create, the lives we impact, and the legacy we’re building through MMTY.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has helped shape both me and MMTY into what we are today. Building a company from the ground up comes with constant obstacles—limited resources, financial hurdles, earning credibility, and navigating an industry that’s highly competitive and constantly evolving.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that talent alone isn’t enough. You have to understand business, build the right relationships, and stay consistent even when things don’t happen as quickly as you’d like. There have been moments where opportunities fell through, partnerships didn’t work out, and projects took longer than expected, but I never allowed those setbacks to define the vision.
Leading MMTY has also taught me that success requires patience and adaptability. Every obstacle has forced me to become a better entrepreneur, leader, and problem-solver. Instead of viewing challenges as failures, I see them as opportunities to improve our systems, strengthen our team, and create better opportunities for the artists and creators we represent.
Looking back, I wouldn’t change the journey because those experiences built the foundation we’re standing on today. They’ve reinforced the belief behind More Money Than Yesterday—that growth isn’t about being perfect; it’s about making consistent progress every single day.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
More Money Than Yesterday (MMTY) is an entertainment company built to help artists, creators, and entrepreneurs turn their talent into sustainable businesses. We’re not just focused on releasing music—we’re focused on building careers. Our approach combines artist development, content strategy, branding, live events, partnerships, business education, and marketing to create long-term opportunities for the people we work with.
What sets MMTY apart is that we don’t believe success should rely on luck or one viral moment. We help our clients build a foundation that allows them to own their brands, diversify their income, and create lasting value. We work closely with every artist and creator to develop strategies that fit their goals, whether that’s growing a fanbase, securing brand partnerships, booking live performances, or expanding into new business ventures.
We’re also embracing the future of entertainment by integrating digital content, livestreaming, and creator-focused strategies alongside traditional music marketing. Today’s audience connects with authenticity and consistency, so we help our talent build meaningful relationships with fans across multiple platforms while creating opportunities that extend beyond music.
What I’m most proud of is the culture we’ve built. At MMTY, we’re creating an environment where collaboration, ownership, and growth come first. Our name—More Money Than Yesterday—is more than a slogan; it’s a mindset. It represents continuous progress, financial empowerment, and the belief that every day should bring you one step closer to your goals.
As we continue to expand nationally and internationally, our mission remains the same: to become one of the leading entertainment companies for independent talent by providing the resources, education, and opportunities that help creators build lasting careers and generational success. We want people to know that MMTY isn’t just building artists—we’re building brands, businesses, and legacies.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My biggest piece of advice is to treat your passion like a business from day one. Too many talented people focus only on the creative side and overlook the importance of contracts, branding, marketing, networking, and financial literacy. Talent might open the door, but knowledge and consistency are what keep it open.
I also encourage people to stop comparing their journey to everyone else’s. Social media often makes success look instant, but what you don’t see are the years of hard work, setbacks, and sacrifices behind the scenes. Stay focused on your own growth and commit to getting better every single day.
One thing I wish I understood earlier is the value of building genuine relationships. Your network is one of your greatest assets. The right mentor, business partner, or collaborator can completely change the trajectory of your career. Invest in people, add value before asking for something in return, and always protect your reputation because your character will often speak before your work does.
Most importantly, don’t wait for permission to build your vision. Start with what you have, stay consistent, and keep learning. Success rarely happens overnight, but if you’re willing to adapt, stay disciplined, and continue improving, you’ll create opportunities that others never thought were possible. That’s the philosophy behind More Money Than Yesterday—every day is a chance to grow, create more value, and become better than you were yesterday.
