Today we’d like to introduce you to Asia Martin.
Hi Asia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I feel like my story is really just beginning. I started out on a typical path of securing internships in college and receiving my master’s degree. Once I completed my last internship, I was not eager to join the corporate world. I actually enrolled in law school but decided it was not for me. So I started my first business selling hair extensions and hair products.
This business allowed me to get my feet wet and truly understand what went into running your own business. I thought it was going to be so easy but I had so much to learn about truly being my own boss. I did not give up though and shortly after started a business funding business where I saw great success.
Ultimately I decided the hair and business funding business were not what I was passionate about. Which led me to start my clothing boutique. I’ve always been into fashion so I thought it would be a no-brainer to start this business. This business has been great but of course, has taught me so much about entrepreneurship, and for that I am thankful.
I’m currently in the process of opening a physical location for my clothing boutique. I am hoping that my clothing boutique will continue to grow and be successful so that I can start other businesses I am super passionate about. One thing my businesses have taught me is to continuously learn, adapt, and invest in yourself to grow as an entrepreneur.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road. Some struggles include a lack of capital, slow sales at times, and not understanding marketing at first. Social media was also a big obstacle but I have invested in many courses in order to surpass these obstacles and continue growing as an entrepreneur.
We’ve been impressed with the Secret Wardrobe Collection, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Secret Wardrobe Collection is a women’s clothing boutique. Catering to younger women we carry contemporary fashion that is trendy. What sets us apart from others is we love our customers and want to provide them with a pleasant shopping experience always. We also value their feedback and make changes where necessary.
We want our customers to know that the Secret Wardrobe Collection is not only a boutique but also a community for fashion lovers to gather and connect based on their love for fashion. Brand wise I am most proud to build a community with my customers because I want to connect with them and truly offer them what they are looking for in a clothing boutique.
I want the readers to know that if they ever are looking for a clothing boutique in Miami for a last-minute outfit or a nice outfit for an event they can always count on us to provide that. Also, look out for our physical location which will be announced very soon.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I like best that people really take care of themselves, want to look their best and express themselves through fashion in the city. I don’t love the traffic in the city. I personally don’t care for being stuck in traffic as I can get impatient at times.
