Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Kasparis.
Hi Andrea, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I found yoga in my early 20s after moving to Miami and navigating a new phase of my life, working full time post college and learning to live as an adult in the “real world” for the first time. “Om Beats” was the first studio I found and I immediately fell in love with it. I quickly saw my life changing in all aspects–from being able to move my body in different ways I never once could (I couldn’t even touch my toes as a kid!) to being able to quiet my mind and manifest things into my reality.
Fast forward to 2022, I decided it was time to pursue teacher training which I completed at Mimi Yoga. I dove in head first and started teaching as much as I could – teaching 6 scheduled classes during the week between Om Beats and a local gym, as well as additional bachelorette classes on the weekends, all while working a 9-5 corporate job.
In the fall of 2024, the universe had different plans for me. I got laid off my corporate job which initially felt like a catastrophe. I started to think what was next for me. Should I start applying for similar jobs? Should I pursue teaching yoga full time? I then thought about Om Beats and began to daydream about one day taking over the studio that introduced me to the world of yoga, and making it my own. Of course, one day, meaning 5-10 years down the road. A week later I had the same thought again and the next day I received a voice message from the owner of Om Beats Yoga where I felt what she was about to ask me. “Andrea, are you interested in taking over the studio? I think it’s time for me to step away.” From that moment, I knew it was destined for me and Brickell Yoga was born.
I quickly took over the studio and in January of 2025 began my rebrand journey of Brickell Yoga. The year has brought a beautiful journey of growth, failures and lots of lessons along the way. As we approach the end of 2025, I can’t wait to see what 2026 will bring!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
While it’s been a fun journey, it hasn’t been all smooth. Since my business is still small, I am a one-woman show and wear all hats – from marketing, operations, customer service, “IT,” “HR” and have my hands tied figuring out the right balance to manage everything on my own until I’m ready to outsource some of these areas. It’s easy to work all hours since there’s no set hours when you’re an entrepreneur. Of course, it’s very rewarding when you start to see the fruits of your labor and your community growing.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
