Today, we’d like to introduce you to Ana Rosales.
Hi Ana, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m from Venezuela, and my journey to the United States began back in 2010.
It was a time filled with hopes and dreams but also with challenges that truly tested my resilience and belief in myself. Despite not speaking English initially, I was determined to learn as quickly as possible, so I enrolled in night classes after long days at work.
Those early years were tough. I found myself in various jobs far from my career aspirations, often exhausting and with minimal pay. Yet, each experience taught me valuable lessons about the working world here and gave me the foundation to eventually take the leap and start my own business.
Looking back, I’m grateful for every step of that journey. It wasn’t always easy, but it shaped me into the person I am today and brought me closer to my dreams.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been quite a journey, one marked by numerous challenges, especially as a female immigrant struggling with a new language.
However, the determination to progress and pursue my dreams was a steadfast source of motivation. I recall those moments cleaning houses, reassuring myself, “This is just temporary, Ana. Keep pushing forward!”

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love the beaches and the people here.
Additionally, I adore the cultural diversity that our city offers. Speaking about what I like least, I would say the traffic, which worsens every day. Moreover, I believe the cost of living is becoming unmanageable.
