Today we’d like to introduce you to Alejandra Domínguez.
Hi Alejandra , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story is one of reinvention, resilience, and discovering that success becomes more meaningful when it creates opportunities for others.
I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, where I built my career as an attorney specializing in family law and earned a master’s degree in civil law. In 2016, political persecution forced my family and me to leave our country and begin a new chapter in the United States. Starting over meant rebuilding not only our professional lives, but also our sense of belonging and possibility.
Together with my husband, Pedro, I co-founded Family Pool 360 in Wellington, Florida. What began as a family business has grown into a recognized pool service company serving Palm Beach County. Through entrepreneurship, I discovered that leadership is not simply about building a successful company; it is about creating trust, strengthening communities, and using business as a platform for positive change.
Today, I am also a writer, speaker, and active member of organizations that support women, entrepreneurs, and the Hispanic community. My work includes mentoring, fostering meaningful connections, and supporting local initiatives and public education through community partnerships and sponsorships.
I am proud of the business we have built, but even more proud of the example we are creating for our children. My journey has taught me that starting over does not mean starting from nothing. We carry our knowledge, values, and dreams with us. And sometimes, the most difficult chapters become the foundation for our greatest purpose.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth road. But I have learned that the most difficult experiences can also become the ones that teach us the most about who we are and what we are capable of building.
Leaving Venezuela because of political persecution meant walking away from the professional life, stability, and familiar world I had spent years building. Arriving in the United States required us to start over in a new country, adapt to a different culture, and find our place while raising our family. As an attorney, one of the hardest parts was understanding that the career I had built in Venezuela could not simply continue in the same way here. I had to redefine my professional identity without losing the value of everything I had learned.
Entrepreneurship brought its own challenges. Building Family Pool 360 with my husband required learning a new industry, earning the trust of customers, managing financial uncertainty, and balancing the demands of a growing business with our responsibilities as parents. There were moments of exhaustion, difficult decisions, and times when progress felt slower than we had hoped.
What helped me move forward was learning to see obstacles as problems to solve rather than reasons to stop. My legal background taught me discipline and critical thinking, while entrepreneurship taught me adaptability, patience, and the importance of building strong relationships.
Today, I understand that resilience is not about never feeling afraid or uncertain. It is about continuing to move forward while carrying those feelings. I also believe that success is not measured only by what we overcome, but by what we choose to build afterward. That is why I am committed to using my experience and our business to support other entrepreneurs, women, and families who are also working to create a better future.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Family Pool 360?
Family Pool 360 is a family-owned pool service company based in Wellington, Florida, serving residential and commercial customers throughout Palm Beach County. My husband, Pedro, and I built the company around a simple belief: a pool should be a source of enjoyment, not another responsibility for the homeowner.
We specialize in professional pool maintenance, water chemistry, equipment inspections and repairs, green pool recovery, acid washing, and stain and metal treatments. Our goal is to provide comprehensive solutions that protect our customers’ investment while keeping their pools clean, safe, and ready to enjoy.
What sets us apart is our commitment to communication, accountability, and consistency. We believe exceptional service goes beyond cleaning a pool. It means showing up when promised, identifying potential problems before they become expensive repairs, and keeping customers informed through detailed service reports and photographs. We want our clients to feel confident that their pools are being cared for by professionals who genuinely value their trust.
We are proud to have received recognition including Best of Florida 2023, Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite 2024, and the Wellington Awards 2025. These honors are meaningful because they reflect the relationships we have built with the communities we serve.
Beyond our services, we believe a successful local business has a responsibility to contribute to the community that supports it. Through school sponsorships, community partnerships, and involvement in organizations that support entrepreneurs and families, we strive to create an impact that extends beyond our industry.
What I am most proud of is that Family Pool 360 represents more than a business. It is a family project built through hard work, resilience, and a shared vision. We are building a company that our children can be proud of—one that demonstrates that success is not only about growth, but also about the trust we earn, the people we serve, and the positive difference we leave behind.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I believe personal growth is a lifelong commitment, and I try to learn from a variety of resources.
For financial education, The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel is a valuable resource because it explores how our behavior, decisions, and relationship with money influence long-term financial success. In entrepreneurship, The E-Myth Revisited by Michael E. Gerber offers important lessons about building systems and creating a business that can grow beyond the daily efforts of its owners.
I also enjoy How I Built This with Guy Raz, a podcast that shares the stories behind successful companies. Hearing entrepreneurs discuss their challenges, failures, and turning points reminds me that success is rarely a straight line.
As a co-author of Mujeres que Rompen Barreras: Historias de Inspiración, I believe deeply in the power of real stories. I also value networking, mentorship, and meaningful conversations with other entrepreneurs through organizations such as Club del Networking, MamasLatinas Palm Beach, Venprendedoras, and NPower.
Ultimately, my most important resource is the willingness to remain curious. I believe that the moment we think we have nothing left to learn is the moment we stop growing.
