Claudia Henao of Palm Beach County on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Claudia Henao shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Claudia , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The things I do during the first 90 minutes after I wake up are:
I drink half a liter of water and then walk four miles. I call it my “morning walk meditation.”

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Claudia Henao. I was born in Bogotá, Colombia, and I left my country 35 years ago.
I am a glass, visual, and mixed media artist, and I have been working with a variety of mediums for over twenty years.
My artistic practice bridges fine art, functional objects, decorative elements, and commercial projects. Among all materials, I have a particular affinity for glass, as it allows me to explore its qualities of transparency, texture, and color. This unique medium gives me the freedom to experiment and express both concept and emotion through form.
Over the years, my purpose has become increasingly clear: to contribute to the environment. That’s why recycling has become my motivation. Now more than ever, I want to inspire others, continue rescuing bottles and discarded glass, and give them a second life as unique creations—giving back to Mother Earth in the process. 🌎
One of my greatest passions is one of my latest projects: replicating pre-Columbian art from my home country, Colombia, inspired by its rich cultural heritage. I look forward to sharing it with all of you soon. Finally, another passion of mine is sharing what I know. I truly enjoy teaching, and I’ve been doing it for several years

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
One of my most profound and transformative memories was giving birth to my son and to my daughter.
Feeling that my body had the ability to create and bring two healthy human beings into the world, made me experience an indescribable strength. In that moment, I understood how powerful, unique, and sacred I truly am.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there have been many moments in my life when I wanted to give up.
But time, time has always helped me pause, breathe, and think twice about that decision.
Thankfully, after a few days and calmer emotions, I reconnect with my passion, my path, and my life’s purpose.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
The answer is yes.! What you see on my social media is my daily life: my connection to nature, art, a good cup of coffee, my work and the simplicity of life. There are no filters on my purpose, no appearances in what moves me. To me, a true luxury is having my family close, enjoying good health, walking freely through the streets with a clear conscience, and continuing to live this path I’ve chosen with intention. That’s what I share, that’s who I am.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Honestly, I don’t think I would stop doing anything at this moment. Everything I do brings me joy, fulfillment, and happiness.
One of the most beautiful things about my work is knowing that I can continue doing it even at an older age. That’s why I wouldn’t stop a thing. On the contrary, I’ll keep creating, and learning new things every single day.
