Meet Tyrone Plummer III better known as “TyReezy”

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyrone Plummer III better known as “TyReezy”.

Hi Tyrone, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started writing music in 6th grade when I was living with my grandma. A few friends and myself made a rap group basically remixing childhood songs like “Wheels on the bus” into titles like “The rims on my truck” adding lyrics to a piece of note book paper we ripped out. Since my mom and dad were in prison most of my life, my sister three cousins and I all lived with our grandparents for 10+ years until my mom and uncle got their act together and were able to get custody of us again.

With all that going on in my life and more, I coped with it by expressing myself through music. We didn’t get to live with mom for even a year before she got back on drugs and my grandparents got custody of us again. A few years later, my mother got hit by a car riding her bike to the gas station and I had to say goodbye to her for the last time life-less on a hospital bed. If it wasn’t for music to get me through all that, I don’t know where I’d be or If I’d even be here. So I started recording when Soundcloud came out on my iPod headphones and fell in love with releasing my pain on beats. I’ve went through a lot, I’ve studied the goats and practiced a lot to have the flow, lyrics, and sound I have today and I’m blessed and grateful for it all.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has been the opposite of smooth. Really rough sometimes. Lost my Mom, went to jail for a year and at the same time lost my uncle, aunt and grandpa within two months around Christmas and I was helpless in jail. Being targeted by cops and people because I’m a half black man is also challenging.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a recording artist (Not just a rapper) I rap very well, I write very well and back in elementary I was in all county chorus so now I’m taking advantage of melodies as well. I’m known for being versatile at everything I touch and branching off into other genres.

What were you like growing up?
Optimistic, Grateful, Humble, Respectful, Mindful. I played football, wrote music, played video games, The cell phone and social media was JUST coming up so we grew up with it. I used to love to draw and was good at it had some art enter the mall art show before, I always tried to be the best at what I did because why do anything half-ass ya know?
