Today we’d like to introduce you to Sophia Valdes.
Sophia Valdes, 25, a Miami native specializing in Art Direction, graphic design and typography. Graduate from Miami International University of Art & Design with a BFA in Graphic Design.
Over the past 7 years, Miami designer and artist, Sophia Valdes has taken her passion for design and typography and built a flourishing career. Her bold lines, expressive type and detailed visions can be seen in advertising campaigns, editorial publications and large-scale murals around the city and close by in the island of Bimini, Bahamas.
She has also collaborated with numerous local and nationwide artist. She has currently ventured out as an Art Director working with different brands big and small across the US. Beyond her commercial work, Sophia Valdes is an active member of the local art and design community in South Florida with her involvement in AIGA Miami.

Have things improved for artists? What should cities do to empower artists?
I think the art community is growing at an all-time high, the demand is more intense. As an artist there is a recent merge between the physical and digital world.
I believe this is a great platform for artist to take it to the next level in expression
