Today we’d like to introduce you to Yosef Ayzencot.
Hi Yosef, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Yosef Ayzencot, and construction has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up as the son of a general contractor, and many of my childhood summers were spent on my father’s construction sites, helping out and trying to make a little money as a kid.
As I got older, I actually tried to stay away from construction. From what I saw growing up, it looked like extremely hard, physical work. I watched my dad work long hours and push himself every day, so I did everything I could to avoid going into that world.
Things changed when I went to college to study business. Toward the end of my first year, my father called me and told me he had too many projects going on and was considering letting one of them go because he didn’t have enough manpower. As a broke college student, I immediately jumped at the opportunity and told him I would come home to help.
Two weeks later I walked into a 60-year-old house that had never been renovated. My father explained what needed to be done and basically threw me into the deep end. Over the next month and a half, i transformed that old, worn apartment into a completely new, modern space. We rebuilt everything from A to Z.
The day we handed the apartment back to the client was the moment everything changed for me. Seeing the transformation and the client’s reaction made me realize that this was what I was meant to do. It felt natural and fulfilling in a way I hadn’t experienced before. At that moment I understood that the path I had been trying to avoid was actually my destiny.
After that first project, I left business school and shifted my studies toward structural engineering and project management. Soon after, I started my own company and began working on renovations, new construction, and full home transformations.
For me, construction is a form of art. Taking something old, damaged, and neglected and turning it into a beautiful, functional, modern home for people to live in is one of the most satisfying feelings I’ve ever experienced.
Over the past 20 years, I’ve been involved in many different projects, from small apartment renovations to multifamily buildings and luxury new construction homes.
Even today, I remain very hands-on. I work side by side with my team on site. I believe when the team sees the owner willing to get his hands dirty and do the work alongside them, it raises the standard for everyone. It pushes us all to deliver the highest quality work and create beautiful homes with exceptional finishes.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely wasn’t a smooth road in the beginning. In fact, it was quite bumpy. One of the biggest challenges was earning people’s trust.
When someone hires a contractor, they’re putting one of their most valuable assets their home into your hands. Naturally, most people want recommendations and want to see previous work before giving someone that responsibility.
In the early days, I had to start with smaller projects. Friends and family helped by recommending my services, and slowly that small snowball began to grow. As I completed more projects, people started to see the quality of my work and the way I approach every job.
Another thing that helped me stand out is that I’m very hands on. I’m not one of those contractors who shows up for a few minutes, tells everyone what to do, and disappears for the rest of the day. I work alongside my team and stay involved in every stage of the project. I’m present on site and deeply involved in both the management and the actual work.
I believe that approach helped architects, designers, and clients trust me. They see that I care about the details, about staying on schedule and within budget, and about delivering the highest quality finishes possible.
Over time, that trust turned into strong relationships and today a large portion of my projects come from word of mouth and referrals from architects and designers who enjoy working with me.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Our company specializes in transforming old, outdated, and often neglected apartments, houses, and condos into modern, beautiful, clean, and highly functional homes. Many of the properties we work on have not been renovated for decades, and our goal is to completely reinvent those spaces and bring them back to life.
For us, every project is something we are proud of. Construction is more than just work it’s a form of art. Seeing the transformation from before to after, taking something worn down and turning it into a modern and beautiful home, is one of the most satisfying feelings. That transformation is exactly why I’ve been passionate about this work for so many years.
What sets me apart from many other contractors is that I am extremely hands-on with every project. I’m involved from A to Z, from the early planning stages all the way through the final details. I rarely rely on subcontractors. Most of the people working on our projects are part of my direct team. Each person was carefully chosen by me and is highly skilled in their specific trade.
In addition, I have deep knowledge of every aspect of construction, which allows me to stay actively involved on site. I personally oversee the work, inspect the details, and make sure everything is built according to the plans, the building codes, and the highest professional standards. This level of involvement helps ensure that every project we deliver meets the quality and finish our clients expect.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with us by reaching out through our website, by email, or by phone to schedule a free consultation. During that meeting, we take the time to understand the client’s vision, needs, and expectations for the project. Afterward, we provide a detailed estimate so they have a clear and accurate understanding of the scope of work and the budget involved.
We also collaborate closely with architects and interior designers. Working together is an important part of what we do. Our role is to take their ideas and designs and bring them to life while maintaining the highest level of craftsmanship and professionalism. By working hand in hand with the design team, we make sure the final result reflects the original vision while also being built correctly, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
