Check Out Tegi’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tegi.

Hi Tegi, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I was always into music from a young age, got introduced to it in middle school where I played in a band. I did not get into electronic music until after high school when I had a friend tell me about Fl Studio (a music-making program). I quickly became obsessed and put countless hours into creating music. After a couple of years, I decided to put my music out there and made a few remixes that got played on Miami radio stations like Power 96, y100, and Revolution 93.5.

Then I had a demo of the week on Tiesto’s podcast, which really showed me I should keep pursuing it. I eventually got into djing, and have been able to play anywhere from LA, to Texas, New York, New Mexico, Utah, etc as well as festivals like EDC Orlando. Currently, I’ve been really focusing on shifting my productions to house music and releasing a lot of that.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely had many challenges, a lot more no’s than yes, and at times I had felt like I had to start over.

Also, the pandemic changed many things and at the same time, many people I knew who worked in the industry moved to other things so many of the connections I had were gone. Also a lot of backstabbing, but with all of that, I’m grateful for how far I’ve come

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a DJ/Producer from Miami. I’m most proud that I get to do this full time and I think what sets me apart from others is my persistence and the that I never give up.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I believe being born and raised in this amazing city (Miami) has given me luck in the sense of the music culture and the connections and just so many opportunities in this big city.
