Check Out Simon Rivera’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Simon Rivera.

Hi Simon, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always been drawn to creating. Even as a kid, I was constantly making videos, filming random moments. Back then I didn’t fully realize it, but storytelling was already becoming a part of who I was.
As I got older, that creative side never really left me, even though I didn’t seriously pursue it for a while. A couple years ago, I finally picked up a camera and everything clicked into place. What started as curiosity quickly turned into something I genuinely fell in love with. The camera became more than just a tool, it became a way for me to express perspective, emotion, and atmosphere.
A huge part of that journey also came from my love for solo travel and exploring. Being in new places, experiencing different environments, and seeing life from outside my normal routine pushed me creatively and personally. Traveling taught me to observe details, chase moments, and appreciate stories happening all around me. A lot of my work is inspired by that feeling of exploration capturing emotion, movement, and experiences in a way that makes people feel something.
Since then, creating has become second nature to me. What began as a childhood hobby eventually grew into a real passion and career path, and I’m still constantly evolving, learning, and finding new ways to tell stories through visuals.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For a long time, one of my biggest struggles was figuring out who I wanted to be and how I wanted to portray myself to the world. I think there’s a lot of pressure to have a clear identity early on, but for me, it took time. I went through periods of feeling lost, unsure of where I fit, constantly comparing myself to what everyone else seemed to already have figured out.
A lot of that journey was learning the difference between who I thought I was supposed to be and who I actually was. I spent a long time searching for something that felt authentic, not just successful on the surface, but real to me. That process came with a lot of trial and error, self-doubt, and moments where I questioned my direction entirely.
Over time, I realized identity isn’t something you suddenly “find” overnight. It’s built through experience, exploration, failure, and growth. The more I allowed myself to create, travel, explore, and step outside my comfort zone, the more I started understanding myself naturally instead of forcing an image.
That struggle ultimately shaped the way I approach my work and my life now. A lot of what I create is rooted in emotion, perspective, and authenticity because I know what it feels like to search for your place and your voice.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a photographer/videographer who finds beautiful in the mundane, and everyday details centered around my life

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
You don’t know what you’re capable of until you are in the middle of it
