Check Out Samantha Cruz’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Cruz.

Hi Samantha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m a Latina Lesbian Masc Presenting Bad Ass Chef from Miami trying to make a change in the world for the better. Traveling the world and sharing love one plate at a time.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. Struggling with my financial situation, my mental health and strength to persevere through it all was a lot to handle. Sometimes I was just barely getting by paycheck to paycheck and working towards becoming better and getting promoted. I also struggled with depression, anxiety and addiction.
The road to becoming an Executive Chef is not for the weak.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I would say that my specialty is cooking “Soul Food” and cooking with love. Taking the time, care and attention to detail to make sure the dish is enjoyable and memorable. I love being able to teach cooks and see their faces light up when they master a new skill. What sets me apart is the I go above and beyond in everything I do.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I wouldn’t call it luck; it is 100% God. I also believe that when hard work meets opportunity is when success occurs. I am constantly mastering my craft and trying to become better.
