Check Out Ramiro Silos’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ramiro Silos.

Hi Ramiro, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Ramiro Silos, and I am an artist with over 25 years of experience, primarily based in New York, where I travel the world seeking social projects focused on animal welfare, transforming these causes into pop art. I am writing to present the cultural proposal for the “Cat Zyon” project, which aims to rescue stray animals and promote responsible adoption.I would like to inform you that all “Cat Zyon” sculptures will be donated to the city, with the objective of raising awareness for animal welfare, at no cost to the municipality or the community. Our intention is to contribute to the beautification of the city while promoting awareness about the adoption of stray animals through art.To realize this project, we only require authorization to install our artwork in a public space. We believe that the installation of the sculpture will have a positive impact and engage the community in such an important cause. In addition to the authorization, we would appreciate the support of the city on the day of installation to ensure that everything proceeds in an organized and safe manner. We are excited about the possibility of contributing to Balneário Camboriú and hope to count on your support to bring this project to fruition.About the “Cat Zyon” ProjectThe “Cat Zyon” project consists of a pop art sculpture standing 2.80 meters tall, designed with vibrant colors that will add charm and cultural impact to the city of Balneário Camboriú. I believe this artwork will not only beautify the urban space but also serve as a point of reflection for the community and tourists alike.Project Objectives
Attention Attraction: Utilize art as a medium to raise public awareness about the importance of adopting stray animals.
Community Engagement: Create a space for dialogue and interaction among citizens regarding issues related to abandoned animals.
Solution-Seeking: Promote initiatives that help ensure a better and more dignified life for animals, with the support of the local community.

Cultural and Social Impact We believe that installing the “Cat Zyon” sculpture in Balneário Camboriú will not only enrich the city’s cultural landscape but also encourage the adoption and care of animals, uniting the community in support of a noble cause.I am available to discuss this proposal further and explore ways to collaborate with the municipality in realizing this project. Thank you in advance for your attention, and I look forward to your response.Sincerely,Ramiro Silos

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The biggest challenge I face today is the bureaucracy involved in exhibiting a pop art sculpture in Miami Beach. Even if it’s for a limited time, the city doesn’t understand that this is to help abandoned cats on the streets of Miami.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

What does success mean to you?
I define success by how my artwork resonates with the community and raises awareness about stray animal adoption. When my pieces spark conversations and encourage people to take action, that’s a true measure of success.

Success is also about staying true to my artistic vision. Creating vibrant and engaging pop art that reflects my passion for animals allows me to connect with audiences on a deeper level.

Lastly, success means finding joy and fulfillment in the creative process. When I see my art bringing happiness to others or inspiring them to appreciate the beauty of animals, I know I’ve achieved something meaningful.

In essence, success is not just about recognition or sales; it’s about making a positive difference and sharing my love for cats through art.
