Today we’d like to introduce you to Preston Chazulle.
Hi Preston, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up in the New York City metropolitan area, but I moved to Coral Gables to attend the University of Miami, where I’m studying Advertising Management with minors in Marketing and Media Management. When I finished high school, I began posting videos on TikTok for fun, navigating my life as I entered college, and sharing things I was experiencing as a student. I realized pretty quickly that there weren’t a lot of creators at the time showing the real day-to-day side of being a student–the good, the bad, the ugly. So I started making content around things like choosing roommates, what college is actually like, advice for incoming students, and taking a “big sister” role.
Over time, some of my videos started gaining attention, and I built an audience of over 30,000 followers and more than 5 million likes across my content so far. That opened the door to working with many notable brands and attending brand events in Miami, which was really exciting because it allowed me to combine my creativity with marketing strategy.
Content creation has also helped shape my professional path. Through building my platform and developing skills in digital storytelling and audience engagement, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to intern with companies like NBCUniversal and the fashion brand Think Royln. Those experiences gave me a behind-the-scenes perspective on media, marketing, and brand strategy, and helped me understand how content and audience development operate at a professional level.
Another major part of my college experience has been studying abroad. I studied abroad in Rome during my first semester of college and am currently studying abroad again in Sydney. Those experiences have been incredibly formative for me because they’ve pushed me outside my comfort zone and given me a global perspective that influences both my life and the way I create content.
Content creation and marketing really go hand in hand for me. Creating content has given me a real understanding of how audiences engage online, what makes something shareable, and how brands can connect authentically with people. Now I’m continuing to grow both sides of that by building my creator platform while also pursuing a career in marketing.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Social media can be unpredictable, and when I first started posting, I had no real strategy or roadmap. I was just sharing my experiences and figuring things out as I went. There were definitely moments where I would put a lot of effort into a video, and it wouldn’t perform well, which can be discouraging when you’re starting out. I had to learn over time not to measure my success by a single post and instead focus on consistency and creating content that makes a difference and resonates with other people.
Another challenge has been balancing everything. Being a full-time student at the University of Miami while also creating content, doing internships, and being involved on campus can sometimes feel overwhelming. There are periods where school gets extremely busy, but social media moves fast, so it can feel like you always need to be creating or posting.
I also learned that building a personal brand takes time. There’s no clear path, and a lot of it comes from experimenting, trying different ideas, and learning what resonates with people. At the same time, being a creator means putting yourself online, which can come with criticism and negative feedback from some people. Those challenges have helped me grow and pushed me to become more confident in my voice, more thoughtful about the kind of content I want to create, and the career I want to build in marketing and media.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Most of my work centers around digital marketing and content creation. I create lifestyle and college-focused content that helps students navigate different stages of their lives, whether that’s preparing for college, adjusting to campus life, or exploring opportunities like studying abroad. My content is rooted in being honest and relatable through sharing advice and lessons I’ve learned through my own experiences.
I also approach content creation from a strategic perspective. I’m always thinking about what makes something resonate with an audience, how storytelling works on social platforms, and how brands can integrate into content in a way that still feels authentic to their voice.
One thing I’m especially proud of is the community that has formed around my content. Many people who watch my videos are students who are navigating similar transitions in their lives, and it’s really meaningful when someone reaches out to say that a video helped them feel more prepared or less alone.
What sets me apart is that I experience both sides of the industry. I’m not just creating content, I’m also studying marketing and working toward a career in the field. That gives me a deeper understanding of both the creative and strategic sides of digital media, and it allows me to think about content as a powerful tool of communication, storytelling, and branding.
What does success mean to you?
Success to me isn’t defined by any numbers. It’s not just about follower counts, views, or performance metrics. The impact you’re able to have on an audience and the opportunities that come from the work you’re doing are what success is truly about. Social media, especially, can make it easy to focus on the numbers, but I’ve learned that those don’t always tell the full story about an individual.
I think success is more about building something meaningful and continuing to grow from it. For me, that means creating content that resonates with people, sparks conversations, and reflects authentic experiences. It also means being able to translate what I’m learning into real-world opportunities.
Success is also about growth and alignment with what you care about the most. Being able to study at the University of Miami while building a platform that connects with people and opens doors in the marketing and media industry feels incredibly rewarding. Success comes from a willingness to learn, creating meaningful work, and building a career that blends creativity with real impact.
