Check Out Mo Rivas’ Story

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Mo Rivas.

Mo Rivas

Mo, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Mónica Rivas Mena, better known as “Mo Rivas,” is a Mexican multi-genre artist established in Mexico City who has marked the national and international music scene with her unique and original lyrics, productions, and compositions.

Her multifaceted voice and wide range have allowed her to experiment with different fusions, textures, and intentions, thus reaching the hearts of people on stages such as Foro Del Tejedor and the Lunario of the National Auditorium in CDMX, House Of Blues in New Orleans, Nancy Venue in Miami, and international festivals in Houston and Memphis.

Currently, Mo Rivas has grown exponentially on digital platforms and social networks, planning to expand her multi-genre music worldwide.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been the least smoothest road I’ve even taken. The making of the music is amazing but the struggles with the pursue of opportunities and resources to keep on creating is one of the most agressive most stressfull things I’ve ever done.

Also, I’ve struggled with keeping up the motivation and taking care of how much I’m taking care of my mental health to continue this journey in the healthiest way possible. This is a scary world for independent artists, for sure.

The truth is that making people feel and connecting with them is the best award for me, and so that’s what has been keeping me on the run for being a better artist every day in every way.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a multi-genre (latin-pop) artist. Right now, I’m about to release chapter 5 of an album that tells a story about separation, letting go, and self-growth. The album has different genres such as ballad, trap, pop, electronic, mariachi, cumbia, and reggeaton) I specialize mostly in songwriting, singing, and vocal arrangements, but I also have knowledge of music production and video production.

I am very proud of how much people are starting to connect with my music in such a deeper way. Not only the number of streams and plays on the videos but also the amount of love and connection that I’ve been feeling with my listeners is the best thing for me. I am proud of all these years of hard work, and I also feel very grateful that I have had the chance to keep on going.

So maybe we end by discussing what matters most to you and why.
Making real music.

If I have a chance to say something that more people are going to hear, the biggest responsibility is what I, as an artist, am bringing to people’s ears, minds, and hearts. Music is here to make our lives better, never the other way around.
