Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael DiPreta.
Hi Michael, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I grew up in the Bronx born and raised and I always wanted to be successful since I was a kid, I worked hard my entire life and it didn’t seem like hard work was going to be the only thing that would make me successful. There were a lot of trials and tribulations I had to face and I still face them to this day. However, as time passed, I learned how to better manage them. I grew up in Throggs Neck and I was always a hard worker throughout everything I did. I grew up playing sports and sports really showed me what it means to be committed to something that you love doing. I played baseball, basketball and soccer growing up and made all my teams that I have ever played for. However, there came a point where I had to make a decision as to what I really wanted to do with my life and my career moving forward. My parents had always told me to go to school, get good grades, get a degree and work until you retire and I found out how much of a lie that was early on due to the fact that I desired so much more out of my own life. I was always good at math and I loved numbers. I also love helping other people and showing them how they can improve other areas of their life and have always been a person who loves serving. I majored in public accounting in college and obtained my Bachelors of Science in Public Accounting maintaining a 4.0 GPA 8 semesters straight. I have been working jobs since I was 16 working 11 jobs since and I am currently 26. I worked at a catering hall for 5 years, lifeguard for 3 years, Con Edison (Utility company in New York) for a year and a half, Amazon, Fed Ex, Tax firm for 4 months, Valet for 3 years, and Pest control company known as Aptive doing sales now for 8 months. Throughout all of these jobs, I found that sales was my true calling. However, I know that deep down inside, I was meant for way more! As I worked, I always had 2 jobs at a time and I worked 70+ hours a week since 2016, even when I was in college as well. In 2022, I was lost mentally and I was praying for a way out. I was working my valet job and I was at a location on the water in Yonkers, New York. As I was working, I ran into a college friend of mine by the name of Julie and she was involved in crypto, trading and investing and deep down inside, I always had a passion for investing and learning how to make money online. I did not know where to go besides her to get started and to learn about the investing and crypto space. Long story short, I got started with her in 2022 when it came to crypto and learning online digital skillsets that would change my life before I even knew it would. I knew about crypto since 2017 when I was working at the catering hall and one of my brothers named Rob put me on to it but I did not take it serious at all. I didn’t do any research or get involved in the space from 2017-2021 until the end of 2021 where I lost some money from being uneducated. However, if I would’ve listened to Rob, I would have been able to invest into Bitcoin at $500-$1000, XRP at $.02, Ethereum at $50-$200, and more. As I did not invest into any of these projects, I watched them absolutely soar and take off in 2020-2021 knowing that I had money in the bank that I did nothing with and to this day, it still hurts knowing this. I lost some money investing at the end of the bull market in 2021 and it was a tough lesson I had to learn and it made me really angry because I was confused as to why due to a lack of education within the space. 2022 was the year that it all started for me with my true investing journey. I studied crypto every single day and hopped on live sessions with my mentor and did not miss a single session since I got started when he went live 3 days a week. fortunately, because my schedule was so busy, every session was recorded so I watched every single session. Within a year and a half, I was able to invest on a weekly basis into the crypto markets dollar cost averaging into crypto projects at low prices and in 2024, I hit 6 figures investing and had my biggest breakthrough! Ever since I did that, it made me change the way I looked at money forever and immediately, I had a mindset shift. The rich do not work for money, they make money work for them through having cash flow in order to invest in assets that outpace inflation. From that day on, I knew this was my true calling and I would also be able to help others do the same as well. For those who listened to me as I was investing at the time, they made great money as well and now I am coaching hundreds of people within the crypto space and helping them to achieve their investing goals and dreams as well while helping them navigate everything within the crypto space as a digital entrepreneur. Ever since making 6 figures in crypto, this allowed me to move from the Bronx, NY to Miami, Florida and I am forever grateful to be able to do this and that I made this move. New York was no longer serving me and the environment over there always drained my energy and I had dreams of living in Florida ever since I was a kid. It was so surreal that there was a pothole within my street in Throggs Neck that was shaped like the state of Florida and I spoke it into existence every single day because I knew one day I would be living here for sure. Sooner than later, that happened at the age of 25 moving down here in 2024 just a year and a half ago and now we are continuously learning and building every single day growing and getting better in every single area of life!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth road at all!
I went from job to job, hustling over 70+ hours a week and money was always a struggle for me due to the fact that I watched my parents struggle their entire lives with my Dad being laid off from 2 jobs working for the airline industry and by the grace of God, he now one of the big managers at Jetblue and has been there for over 25 years!
At one point, we were very close to needing food stamps because money was so tight and growing up in the Bronx showed me the worst of life when it came to people’s mindsets and how they viewed money. All I knew was to go to work for money and I did not truly understand how money worked. I felt like my life was given to my jobs and I never had time for myself because I was always working, which made me stressed out all the time. I gave up my early 20’s due to the fact that I had no choice but to work hard and prove my worth in this world to allow myself to get to that next level. Working 70+ hours a week and going to school at the same was super tough and sleep was hard to come by during my school days.
I also lived in a house with my grandparents, aunt, sister, mom and dad so dealing with the chaos around the house at times was very overwhelming and when there were arguments, I could not go anywhere because the house was one floor. The only way I would get away from the arguing at times was if I went downstairs to my grandparent’s apartment to isolate myself in the basement and work there late nights focused on my craft and pursuing my dreams every single day.
Throughout all the struggles, I still loved my family and I still pushed through no matter what because quitting was never an option for me whatsoever!
I watched my grandfather immigrate over to this country from Italy and go through absolute hell and felt the pain he went through from all the stories he told me when he went to work and how he lost his wife (my grandma) when my dad was only 10 years old and my uncle was 12 having to provide for his family as he was in and out of the hospital constantly every single week from anxiety attacks and collapsing in the middle of the street. Because of him, he shaped the way I am today and the way I carry forward all of my work through grit, determination and a mindset that will never allow me to quit because of how hard he had life before things fell into place for him.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am currently involved in sales for a Pest control company known as Aptive Environmental Pest Control. I am an LTV agent for the company which stands for Lifetime Value as a manager helping customers keep their pest control plans as they are looking to cancel. I deal with the customer service side of the company and I face many challenges through customers every single day and it is up to me to provide them with a solution to help them get past their problems and struggles that they face within their lives. Whether it is lowering their pricing for pest control services, pushing out their monthly billing dates, putting important notes on their accounts when it comes to special requests they make with us, etc., I always get to help people in every way and serve others. It has truly been an honor being able to do this for people because these customers I talk to sometimes face harsh situations and it makes me feel good knowing that at the end of the day, I am truly helping them in multiple ways and they are always grateful for that.
I can honestly say I am most proud of myself for not giving up on myself especially when I first started this job because it was a struggle in the beginning. Sales is a tough industry and my rates were extremely low when I first started with the company. However, after I received some coaching and some help through my struggles, my close rates went up from 30-40% all the way to 60-80% and it was such a blessing to achieve this. I was so proud of myself for never giving up on myself even when it was tough and I was just struggling to do well. To this day, sales taught me the importance of showing up for yourself each and every single day no matter what.
What sets me apart from others would be my desire for success and my low IQ level – I quit level. I am a relentless human being due to the fact that I know that what I do for others is truly helping them and I know that in doing so, others are truly grateful for it, even if the gratitude is not shown immediately.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I used to be a huge introvert and I was super shy around everyone, However, that changed really fast when I went to high school due to the fact that as a freshman, I made my varsity soccer team and became friends with the entire senior class of over 400 people with my school totaling 1,600 students. Being involved on sports teams allowed me to break that shell of being shy and allowed me to become a way better version of myself. I was always a fun person, I love being around others, sports were always my favorite, video games were a huge deal for me growing up as well, and being with my family. I also love to workout and stay active in the gym and have been doing so since I was 13 years young. I would say my personality would be best described as jolly, fun, open, extraverted, and exciting.
