Hi Maggie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I founded Miami’s Heat Flea because I recognized a significant lack of a true sense of community. As a former vendor myself, I experienced firsthand the challenges that many small businesses and artists face in this environment, which often felt isolating and discouraging. After dedicating months to extensive research, countless emails, and strategic advertising efforts, I finally brought Miami’s Heat Flea to life!
My vision for this market is to create an inclusive and accessible space where artists and small businesses can not only showcase their work but also connect with one another and with the community at large. I believe that fostering collaboration and support is essential for growth and success. To that end, I’ve designed a flexible fee structure that varies by market venue, ensuring that everyone—from emerging creators to established vendors—can participate without financial strain. My ultimate goal is to cultivate an environment where creativity thrives, relationships flourish, and local entrepreneurs can truly shine. I truly enjoy creating what I create through Miami’s Heat Flea, my mission is only going to get bigger and I’m so excited for the future.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the challenges I’ve encountered is a lack of respect for my vision and my business. BUT that does not stop me at all.

I work wedding events, social media, and I am a creative through my art.
So I love creating memories & helping others!!
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Be patient-Not everyone wants to collaborate-Nothing is a competition-Don’t compare
